Is there anyone planning to apply for FSCJ's Summer 2011 RN program? I am taking A&PI and II next semester with Human Growth and Dev. and Sociology, then I'll apply. I am taking Microbiology during the spring prior to going into the program. I am taking the Nat in September after Chem 1032. What about you?
Ok I am torn because I was going to sign up for Columbia college class tomm but I can't depend on a maybe so what should I do?? I don't want to waste money for a class I won't need IF I get in but can't lose those points for fall if I don't, plus I have a class tomm and I'm considering skipping it in hopes I get a call, what do y'all think?
Have faith. You'll get a call. The person I spoke with said they are getting a lot of students declining their seats. I would at least wait until Wed. because they have until tomorrow to accept their offer. At least you know that you are next in line. I'd hold to that as, "Accepted". It could be worse, you could still be thinking 14 people need to decline for you to get in. Fact is, only 1 needs to decline. I'd wait til Wednesday for Columbia.

Thank you so much! I think I will wait til Wednesday and see if I get a call, I'm praying that this works out!! One person!!!! I will post if anything changes.
Lindsay what is the deal with this columbia college thing? Are you taking classes to get a better grade? I had a 109 and a total of 189 so i have to retake some classes. Do they take the average of the retake and the initial attempt or the best of the 2?
Go to like pg 63 or so and read surftinks post I reposted, according to her she had two c"s and retook them at Columbia and sent her better grades In with her transcript and they took the better ones cause she got in for summer
Lindsayy!!!!!!!!!!!
Im happy for you I know you havent gotten a call yet but, I would hold out until Wednesday, you are next in line, they may give you that call!!! Good Luck!
I called Columbia this morning and they did say we have until Friday to register. Im not sure if I should because I am already taking 5 classes now. I cant believe so many people declined thier seats. 13 people that is alot!

Thank you KT2010!!!! I really hope so!!! I'm praying!!!!
Thanks for the insight Lindsay. Do you know if the nursing dept takes the copy of Columbias transcript or if they want the fscj one? Only reason I ask is because I had an issue with them last fall. I transferred in my micro grade and the college took 3 months to "evaluate it" so i couldnt apply.
@KT- I saw your dilemma on the whole lpn and rn thing. I usually keep my mouth shut when it comes to sticking my 2 cents in someone elses conversation but i think i should this time. My mom has been an rn for 16 years. In that time they have actually phased out LPNs at her hospital. Most of it strings from the increase in qualified RNs has made the RN to patient ratio much more manageable. Also do to the fact they can save money by hiring CNAs to do much of the LPN job other then administer meds. Anytime i mention LPN to my mom or my sister(shes a cardiac RN) they both tell me dont even think about it. The pay is also a huge game changer. If you can get in the program in the fall then wait because in the grand scheme of things 3 months is nothing. I had a dept chair at IRSC tell me they suggest the LPN program to people with special circumstances i.e. its less demanding and some people need the job skills to put food on the table and the shorter completion time makes a difference.
Take it with a grain of salt but that is my input. I only hope the best for you.

I'm not 100% sure but like I said surftink did it and got in for summer. I can sign up for my class tomm. I kinda took a leap of faith on that. I could make an appointment with the dean she went to, but I wouldn't think she would lie about it either.
