FSCJ SPRING 2015

Hello, everyone!

Since no one has started a Spring 2015 for FSCJ Nursing, I thought I would start it. I plan on applying the beginning of September I will take the exam in august. I'm very nervous of course. I have a preq gpa of 2.87 but I have an overall gpa of 3.23. Has anyone heard that FSCJ has changed their entrance exam to the HESI A2? Anyone applying to FSCJ hoping to get accepted for the spring?

Wasn't able to post yesterday as I am at st v RS after giving birth to my baby boy but I GOT MY ACCEPTANCE LETTER IN THE MAIL ALSO!!!!! Woo hoo!!! I applied with a 202.2

Congratulations! So many things to be excited about! My mom works in L&D and I really hope in that department when I get my license! :)

There is still a possibility that you will get an acceptance packet if you haven't received one. They don't send them all at the same time. I applied this past fall without micro and didn't get in. I kept seeing on the posts each day that new people were getting their packets. Keep your heads up and try not to stress too much. Congrats to everyone who received their packets today.

I remember reading about this on boards from previous semesters. Not everyone gets their letter on the same day. I have my fingers crossed for all who haven't gotten anything yet.

Congratulations on both things. Maybe we can help each other because I don't know how I am going to make it through with leaving my newborn everyday pretty much.

I was just curious how many people were hoping for the evening program? I emailed Cheryl James as soon as I read my packet when I got home last night since there are limited seats. I am just hoping that we get a response back letting us know we got the night seat since its on a first come, first serve basis.

I saw somewhere that she will go down the list whoever has the highest points gets to pick their shift and so on.

This is me too! I used to be a CNA then I had our first child, then started my prereqs to go into nursing, then got pregnant again and dropped out of school. After baby #2 I became a stay at home mom, then came #3, then I started going back to school and had #4 while in school. Now I am finally going to be a NURSE!!! I am the other one who has 180.6 points. I'm pretty positive you'll get an acceptance letter.

I went to nursing school dropped out due to having my first and now back going to school about to have my second when schools starts but I'm going to suffer through because life waits for no one and I need this for myself first and my family second. Sounds selfish but I still have a life too and I had goals before my kids. I the end it will be the best for both my babies and myself as well as my husband because them he can go to nursing school.

FYI: FSCJ has daycare scholarships you can apply for to pay for daycare for your kids as long as you are utilizing the on-campus day care center. I don't know the specifics but I will be looking into it.

I used the on site daycare at the north campus when I did my MA and they are pretty good however they only take kids at a year and up. The early learning coalition has discounted daycare for low income families but a waiting list. They pay for over half of day are and you can use any daycare that takes the stipends. I would look into that first.

I received my acceptance letter yesterday. It is the happiest day and also one of the saddest day of my life. I lost my uncle to cancer. So this will be done all for him. Congratulations to all that received their letters thus far and hopefully they will come soon for the remaining.
