FSCJ Spring 2018 hopefuls

Published

The Fall 2017 came out last week so I thought I would start the Spring 2018 hopefuls thread. Did anyone email the program to ask what they could improve for the spring? I was advised to retake my Hesi A2 and finish my AA. I will finish my AA this summer and plan to retake m Hesi in Aug. I think we are going to do a Hesi study group in the month of July too. There is also a facebook group started as well. Good luck everyone.

I also heard the fall and the summer are hardest to get in into and spring normally has cut off lower than the fall. I'll be sending my application once all grades are posted from summer semester.. Just like you said some got in under 220 and some also got denied over 220 so hope all goes well for us all

I am still waiting on one grade to post but they wont read the apps until after the deadline so i figure i would donit now before life gets in the way. I think i am goona get me apps for the other programs ready too.

Did anyone notice the new application they posted yesterday? It has a spreadsheet for the points, and for the HESI A2, it doesn't include the sciences portion.

I am glad you noticed that! I may have to resubmit mine!

Thank you so much!!!

There is some major changes to the point calculation as well as what is included in with it! I was very surprised. I had to go in and redo my points. below is the link to the new application.

What other programs are you trying to apply to. Like are they other back up schools?

I'm trying to calculate my points, however it's not adding up correctly according to the new application.

For example, "4" points for anatomy "x 1.3" doesn't equal 5.33. It equals 5.2. Or am I just looking at things wrong? I take my HESI next Tuesday, and I'm hesitant in believing it won't include the sciences!

The points didn't add up right for me either, however, if I got an A in those subjects I just did the max, if I got a B I did the 1.3. when I did my points I was at 124 out of the 160. I retook my HESI yesterday, wish I would have known this before that.

As far as applying for other programs, I was looking at the St. John and the LPN, but I am not sure

Yeah I'm A bit confused as well. It does not add up too well. My grades out if 40 is 32.3 which seems really odd. I'm hoping there are no mistakes here. I took the hesi about a year in a half ago but want to take again to get 90 in all 4 categories hopefully to get those extra 20 points because 3 out of the 4 I have above 80. I will retake in about 2 weeks then submit my application. Does anyone know if Hesi scores are available immediately if taken at fscj

They do post immediately at FSCJ.

I also noticed it says you need a 75% in all the subtests, so every category including sciences I believe, to even get considered.

Ok! So I may have figured out the calculations. I talked to my fiancé, and he said if you multiply "4" x "1.333" that should equal "5.33". That's the only way any of that could make sense.
