FSCJ NURSING SUMMER 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone, I hope all is well.

I haven’t seen any threads for Summer 2020 so, this will be a great way for us to network and receive valuable information and help From our fellow students. Does anyone plan on applying to FSCJ NURSING SUMMER 2020? What scores are you applying with? Any tips for preparing for the HESI A2? Are there any study groups preparing for the HESI A2? What Was the previous cut-off point?

@AttemptRN I'm sure you've already scheduled your exam, but just an FYI for anyone else that reads this, schedule your test date asap, bc it'll be hard to get a seat closer the the application deadline.

I think if you're a second-degree seeking student, going the Associate's degree route seems like the better and cheaper option, especially if you have other priorities consuming life that prevent the accelerated program route.

Practice questions was my saving grace. The HESI Pocket Prep was a good study tool, but there are a lot of free practice tests online too that you may also benefit you.

Good luck in your studies! ?

This is the guide to help Calculate your points. I also need to begin studying. I plan on scheduling my exam later the week for the end of the month. Good luck on your journey and I hope to see you guys soon!

@ShaTerria Risher I appreciate it! If we answer all the questions wrong on the sections that don't count, it won't affect us? If that is the case, could we just skip the questions? I know @Jess.W said we have to take all the sections besides physics. Since I have not taken it before I am nervous for the timing and sections. I don't want to waste my energy on questions that don't count.

I don’t believe it counts love, but I’m not 100% sure. They will most likely look at the whole test, so you want to do your best.

@AttemptRN you can't not answer the questions in the sections that don't count. But each section is times separately so no need to worry about waisting time on those that don't count. You can pick which sections you want to take first as well. For me I always take the math first while all the conversions are fresh in my mind. I started with what I felt strong in and went from there. Plus it will tell you what score you got in that section when you finish it. Which I like.

@Danielle1904 thanks so much for that! That makes me feel so much better. I think I will take the math first as well. I am doing practice questions on nursehub and see some of the questions are not multiple choice. Are all the questions multiple choice on the exam?

Thank you!

@AttemptRN yes they are multiple choice. I do believe that there may be a few that aren't though. There is a hesi Facebook group that has a lot of filed that are very helpful, highly recommend it.

Okay great! Do you have a link to the group? There's a few different groups.

@AttemptRN I don't know how to copy the link but it's called online hesi a2 study group on Facebook.

@Danielle1904 THANKS SO MUCH! This FB group is soooo helpful!

Hey @Jess.W @Danielle1904 when applying to FSCJ online is the email they send saying they received your 2020 application all they will send to confirm they got the application? Also, will they tell you which pre-reqs they are using if you have more than 1 math, chemistry, etc? I know mistakes can happen and I have so many classes since I have a B.S in Science, I want to make sure they pick the best grades haha!

@AttemptRN some people received a confirmation email after submitting the application, some didn't. I never got the confirmation email, but there was a confirmation prompt on my screen right after I submitted my application. It was the first semester using the online application system, bc before they were having everyone submit paper applications.

I can't say what grades they'll take. I'm pretty sure they'll take your highest bc I can't imagine them taking the lowest grade or whatever grade they feel like taking lol. Contact the nursing department, they were surprisingly quick to respond to my email when I had a question.
