Hello everyone, I hope all is well.
I haven’t seen any threads for Summer 2020 so, this will be a great way for us to network and receive valuable information and help From our fellow students. Does anyone plan on applying to FSCJ NURSING SUMMER 2020? What scores are you applying with? Any tips for preparing for the HESI A2? Are there any study groups preparing for the HESI A2? What Was the previous cut-off point?
I also made a Facebook page if anyone Is interested https://m.facebook.com/groupslanding/?group_id=2504165686466488&notif_t=group_invited_to_group&notif_id=1575650118321901&ref=m_notif

Hey! I'll be applying for the Summer cohort with 142.67 points, but I plan on retaking the HESI this January to better my chances.
Spring 2020 acceptance score was 134.5 and their waitlist score range was 134.5-133.67.
For the HESI A2, find a good review book to review the sections. The one highly recommended is the HESI admissions assessment review 4th edition, which goes over all 9 subjects. Do a bunch of practice tests/questions in the week leading up to your exam date to get your mind in the flow.
I'm actually in an FB group for the Summer 2020 cohort. Had to get an invite for it bc it wasn't searchable, but here's the direct link: https://m.facebook.com/groups/644783692594562/?ref=group_browse. Not much going on it as of right now, but it's been a great way to network with potential cohort peers.

Hello! I am planning to apply for summer 2020 FSCJ. I am scheduled to take the HESI Jan27th for the first time. If FSCJ only counts Grammer,Reading, Math, and Vocabulary do we still have to complete all sections? Do the other sections count for anything? I am still confused on how the "scale" of 160 points works.
I am trying to get this ready to apply and feel lost.
Hi @AttemptRN! If you take the HESI A2 at FSCJ, they'll require you to complete all sections except Physics, but FSCJ doesn't factor in the 3 sciences into their point system. Have you downloaded the Associate's Ranking Criteria on their website?
@Jess.W thanks for responding! I have downloaded it. I see that Math, Reading, Grammar and Vocabulary count. From what I understand anything over a 75% counts as "more points"?
Do you know if they take the highest score for pre-reqs? I have more than one chemistry and english class since I already have a B.S. I am also wondering if they take math placement test hahah. I did not do so well in Pre-Calc so I would hate for that to count as my Algebra ;/
@AttemptRN you have to score at least 75% on those 4 sections to be considered for the program. On the ranking criteria, if you look at the 3rd table (at the bottom), that's where you can get those extra points if you score upwards of 80%. So, if you get 80%-89% in each section, you get an additional 3 points. If you score 90%-100% in each section, you get an additional 5 points.
I think they take the highest score for pre-reqs, but I know for a fact that if you submit CLEP tests they'll considered it as a B grade.
@Jess.W Thanks so much for all the information!! Are you applying for Summer 2020?
@AttemptRN happy to help! Yep, I'm retaking the HESI on the 22nd to better my chances.
@Jess.W good luck! Which study materials do you recommend? I’m TERRIBLE at reading, grammar, vocabulary:(
@AttemptRN thanks, you too!
I'm using the HESI admissions assessment review 4th edition, but haven't look at it in awhile. Those 3 are actually the ones I want to bring my score up in lol. The test itself isn't as hard as people say, I didn't dedicate a lot of time to study it and came out with a decent score.
How are you preparing for the test?
To be honest I have not started yet:/ I plan to start today! I was initially going to apply to UNF for a second BSN... but changed routes. I will order that book today. I see from other posts that the Hesi app helps! So I downloaded that ?
