FSCJ Nursing - Spring 2016

Published

Hello!

I haven't seen a thread for FSCJ Spring 2016, so I thought I'd start one. Who all is planning on applying for this term start? If anyone is in the program already, any advice??

Look forward to chatting with you all. :)

Can someone please send me the application packet so I can do my school. My email is [email protected]

What is everyone's score? I have an overall score of 189.3 do you think it's competitive score? Good luck to everyone!

Can someone send me the application. [email protected] I will be applying for the bridge track program next week. I'm pretty excited

What is the day time schedule like?

I've been trying to find out the same thing. I want to know if the daytime schedule has weekends off, because I'm hoping to continue working on weekends. I was also wondering if classes take place in summer too.

While there are no guarantees about clinical schedules in the community, generally speaking, the faculty and school is closed on the weekends, so daytime classes have the weekends and holidays off. That said, students are encouraged to do what they must to maintain flexible schedules. Changes are often made last-minute. I wouldn't make any plans to be out of town or pre-committed to anything else, including a job, while in nursing school. This is a good time to organize priorities to favor the task at hand -- success in Nursing School.

If we get accepted to the fall 2016 daytime program will classes also take place during summer , so we would graduate by end of December 2017?

So their BSN program, can we take more classes in a semester to graduate faster? And does worksource pay for the BSN as well?

Has anyone had any issues with getting transfer credit for classes from other universities or community colleges to count at FSCJ? It seems like it is taking forever. I have a BS in biological sciences and will hopefully get credit for all the pre-reqs.

Thanks Jess, I won't let it discourage me from applying to get in. I know I have the points to have a really good chance. Now I have to find something to occupy my time until the summer because all of my pre-reqs are completed. I don't want to take a CNA course because I've heard being a CNA will burn you out before school.

i am currently a CNA and have been since 2012. So basically the entire time i have been taking my pre-reqs and doing my AA. It's tough but it will prepare you for nursing school. Not only that but it will make you a better polished nurse. I have worked with nurses who have been CNAs before becoming Nurses and they are most of the time better with patient care than those who are not.Trust me, its the worst when you have to work with nurses who dont know how to help you when needed. Nursing isnt just about passing meds, starting IVs, doing Labs etc. Its all the other CNA work too. As ive noticed most of the newer nurse tend to think theyll never wipe butt.
