FSCJ Nursing - Spring 2016

Published

Hello!

I haven't seen a thread for FSCJ Spring 2016, so I thought I'd start one. Who all is planning on applying for this term start? If anyone is in the program already, any advice??

Look forward to chatting with you all. :)

I noticed the changes...I was also browsing through the classes to choose from in our schedules through Connections and it doesn't seem they've been updated. I'm looking forward to being able to start my professor research! :)

I finished all of my prereqs last semester. I should be finished with my associates in december. This semester I am taking a few classes but they dont start until 6/29 so I have a good month to do nothing but study for the HESI. I'll be taking it in July so that I can apply by the August 1st deadline. I actually spoke with someone that just recently graduated from the nursing program and she stated that there is a year waiting list. Has anyone heard of this? If there is then my back up plan is to apply for the LPN program and start off with that until I can get in.

I am in the same boat as you! I'm finished with my prerequisites and I will have my associates in December. I'm taking summer classes that started on the 1st but I'm also studying for the HESI that I'm planning to take next month. I bought the Elsevier hesi study guide book and it's really easy to read through. I'm just really worried about the math part! I haven't heard anything about a year waiting list so I'm curious about this also.

Hello, everyone! It's awesome to see everyone's responses and all the great tips and advice from fellow students. I've got 8 weeks left of summer classes and I'll be done with my pre-reqs. Basically, I'm going to be scraping by in terms of the deadline. :wacky: I plan on taking the HESI sometime this month or next. I tend to do pretty well on standardized tests, so I'm not too worried about it. (Though, I'm a bit nervous about any math related stuff, as that's never been my strongest suite.)

Has anyone noticed the changes made to the nursing program? They've changed up the courses taken and it seems like there are less of them now. We had a girl come into my A&PII class and she told us that pharmacology will be added into all the classes instead of it being a separate class in itself. I think that's what the program classes are reflecting now.

Good luck to everyone! :nurse:

I'm worried about the math part too! I'm really bad at it. Lol. But I'm taking a summer math course now and studying for the HESI. I hope I can make the deadline!!! Good luck

Can someone send me the most recent packet?

I am planning on turning my application in on Monday and I have calculated my points, I have 204 points. How realistic are my chances for getting into the program this spring coming? If anyone has any idea please help!

I'd say pretty good. Heard the cutoff is usually 189 -179.

Oh really!!..... Well I'm turning my application in on Monday and I will just hope for the best, thank you!

Does anyone know if there is a minimal required score for the HESI, If so please answer!

I haven't heard of a waiting list, other than for the students who don't make the cutoff and are on the waiting list for openings from accepted students who forfeit their seats.

I didnt think there was. My understanding is that if you dont get in the first time around then you have to apply all over again. There is no such thing as a waiting list. I thought her comment was kinda odd about the waiting list.
