FSCJ/FCCJ spring 2011 hopefuls

U.S.A. Florida

I scanned the threads and didn't see one for this class set up yet. I'm applying at the end of the semester. Anyone else?

I know attempting to calculate the workings here is giving us all migraines and severe reflux. Myself with next week being a short week I wouldn't look for anything additional mailings to go out until the first of the week following the holiday, it is possible but I dont think to likely. If I was in their position,I wouldn't want a bunch of frantic soon to be students calling and reversing that reflux all the staff just before the holiday.

I am surprised that just the few notices have been recieved thus far. We shall see though....But anyway Happy Thanksgiving everyone...

Well, I haven't received anything yet!!! Maybe no news is good news. I had a 199.43, so hopefully I will have my letter soon. I cannot imagine not getting in with that. I hate it for those of you out-of-county folks who didn't get in with your good scores, and I'm glad you have goals and other options. For those who missed is by a few, next time will be your time!!!! Good Luck to everyone. Guess my family will have some pretty good Christmas ideas for me now!!!

I count nothing as solid until I have the paper in my hand... glad to see that 194 number getting a few more responses kinda firming it up but I still need the paper.

As to all the "out of county" folks.. what's keeping you from getting a UPS box in duval?

Someone out of county that applied for the LPN program at FSCJ last term used an address in duval that was not her home address when she applied, and the school found out somehow. They threw out her app, and banned her from ever applying for any program at the school again. Its dishonest, cheating and isn't fair to all the duval applicants. I dont mean to sound brass or mean, but Im really sensitive to this out-of-county thing

Absolutely K Nurse,

We are to be trusted with someone's lives and medications and we start off fibbing on an application, that makes for a trustworthy medical practioner. Capt K would you really want that person taking care of you or one of your family memebers, not I.

I agree with you. Again, I dont mean to sound insensitive, but I just get angry when people talk about cheating. People dont understand this out of county rule, its for a good reason. If they accepted people from every county in the state, Jax students wouldn't have a chance.

Kris,

From your message there , I would think you might be at the low end of acceptance points. My understanding is there was fifty seven out of county applicants from the denial letters that have already hit. Now if all those were allowed to be fully qualified by having a PO Box , you my friend might be very well out of the running. One lady posted she had 223 pts and was denied so how many had points above yours that you will never know about also.

I had missed an anatomy test when I was in A & P 1, one of my classmates offered to let me see their test before I made up mine. I said no thank you. I will work for what ever grade I get in here and know I earned it. I completed both 1 & 2 with "A"s , the instructor was a tough cookie but I came out knowing I have a solid background to build on from there.

I have went into stores and had the cashiers give me too much change back and I will and have returned it. One day I had one get indignant with me even after I tried to explain to her I was merely trying to return what she overpaid me.

I have been on the other end and have appreciated the times someone did that for me.

The moral to this story is dishonesty is never a good policy and will only come back to bite you in the rear end. I would rather make it in honestly and know I deserve to be their on my own merits.

I've got 217 points.. If that doesn't get it, my microbiology A will add in 16 on top of that. I'm really just waiting on the paper. I live in duval, just didn't know what the big deal was. Like if it was a property tax issue or something. Guess they want the clay kids to goto SJRCC. Thought was weird since they have a clinical in Clay according to that one persons post.

I don't know you guys know this but sjrcc does the same thing to duval applicants! And I am sure these are not the only two schools that do that! I'm just sayin:)

Yep, as should they. I think its entirely appropriate

I completely agree!

hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here has received any notification on being accepted into the program? I know a few people who have received rejection letters and confirmed the cut off being 194.72, but haven't heard of anyone who received an acceptance letter yet. Do they wait to send those out last?
