Frustrated!

Hello! So I took my NCLEX-RN February 23, 2015 in California and failed...I got 265 questions, a small variety of questions. Who do you see first, like 10 sata, one OB question, 6 meds, 2 pictures, and delegation and was confused/upset when I left...did I not learn enough from nursing school that I did that bad? Either way I would have accepted if I failed or passed. It's not the end of the world and I'm a very optimistic person I'll get it next time. Ultimately I failed and I got my CPR about 7-10 days later. I busted my butt with ati the first attempt, then took the three week course of NCSBN program did alright 70-80% on the questions, felt I was ready when my day came. On April 16, 2015 I took my second attempt and the computer shut off at 75 questions. I was feeling pretty good, majority of people Iv talked to and what I have read, said they all passed at 75? This time around I got some delegation, a few who do you see first, one cardiac strip, one drag and drop, a few interventions, I think 10 sata again and close to the end the last 10 questions were on meds that were easy to break down, the last question I got was pretty easy? I walked out happy...waited the 48 hours and nothing on breeze. On Saturday evening I saw two posts on IG of people's results, I almost lost it and was sure I failed again. It is now almost a week that has gone by and no results still. I need help from anyone who has been in the position or knows how the processing goes or be blunt and tell me I failed? Also some advice on what the next step is? I'm staying positive that it is a learning experience but two spectrums of the test and failed both doesn't settle easy with me? Thanks for reading:)

i suggest to just wait until you get your candidate performance report that way you will see which area you are lacking on. But then again, do not based your results via PVT. although i got the good pop up i was never at rest and i was always anxious. i got my name up on breeze this morning and that relieved everything.

but yeah, if i were you i would wait for the final verdict when i receive something from the mail, that way everything will be confirmed. thats just me though. at the end of the day you can do what ever you like :)

Did you try calling them ??

I tested yesterday, my application was pending and "open". However, about 36 hours after the exam, my application disappeared! It's no longer there!

I graduated in May 2013, I've tested almost every 6 months, totally 3 times. I tested for my 4th time on 4/28 in calif and couldn't go any longer and tried the Pearson trick last night, it also took my money. From what I've heard the trick is pretty accurate. After taking this test 4 times now, I thought for sure I had done it. My last 2 questions were a UAP delegation and patient priority, I'm also pretty sure I got the last question right...then it turned me off at 75. I was in Ah last night when i didn't see the good pop up. Everyone is telling me, don't give up hope until you get official results.

Yeah, everyone keeps saying the same to me. I tried the PVT and it took my money as well. At this point I think I failed. Just want to retest. What did you use to study?

Hi tiffany. Honestly the first 2 times I didn't study "nclex" wise, or merely at all. Before my third attempt I used Kaplan. I watched all the content videos, and did the q-bank. I also did 1-3 question trainers but then when I got to 4 and 5 I felt like I was seeing repeat questions from the q-bank so I stopped, and tested. Before this last time, I thought maybe I needed more content because from each test I left lost. So I did the yellow Saunders entirely and then about 1/3 of another lippincott and was feeling soooo good during my test!!! I saw many topics I knew and had many SATA....and with my last 2 being a UAP delegation and patient priority...I thought for sure I passed and that's what made me do the trick, it was over 48 hours later. I didn't want to take any chances on false deny of my card, so I used my accurate one with funds...I'm so scared. I honestly thought "I did it" when it shut off at 75.

Can there be priority and delegation questions if you are in the ranges of NOT passing??? I thought you get to those when ur doing well...but you'll only go back down to lower level questions before it shuts u off.

What did you use?

So low and behold I finally passed the third time around. I really stuck to my guns and bought the Saunders 6th ed. review book and along with it the evolve website. This book really helped me see the strategies on how to eliminate the wrong answers to find the right one. The third time around I had lot of SATA, a few drag and drop, and a few exhibits, two drugs, some priority and one math question. Although it was the same amount of test questions just like the second time (75), I walked to of this test in complete doubt again and was so relieved to see my name on the breeze.ca two days later. Now the struggle of finding a job is on the table. Good luck to everyone who is taking the test for the first time or is retaking it for a multiple time. Just tell yourself you can do it and if it doesn't work out it is not the end of the world.
