From University to Community College

It really depends on the program honestly...I'm doing and ADN program then getting my BSN.

My program looks at GPA then credits then recommendation letters. So it's very competitive.

I'm no program administrator but I'm almost positive your GPA will matter...

Most schools will look at your GPA.

Did you say your taking A&P 1&2 in the same summer semester????

I'm saying will my CC look at my GPA at lets say Pace. A/P 1 in Summer Session 1 A/P 2 in Summer Session 2

Yes. Schools will require transcripts (therefore grades) from every school you attended. However, different schools put different amounts of value on your GPA from different places. For example, some schools may calculate your GPA based on your last 60 units, some only look at certain classes, and some will use every grade to calculate your GPA. Either way, all schools will want to see all of your transcripts even if they don't use every class to consider you for the program.

I'm assuming you're asking this because you, like myself, have some regrets. If so, don't let a bad GPA count you out of nursing school or a BSN program! I had an awful undergrad GPA and am now in an accelerated bsn program so it can happen! When I was looking into nursing schools I looked at what each school based their acceptances on and applied to those that didn't put a lot of emphasis on my not so shiny past.

Most schools will look at your cumulative GPA from all schools attended. How much that's factored in will vary. For example, for most community colleges here in CA, as long as you qualify (minimum GPA, minimum TEAS score, etc), you go into a lottery, where you have an equal chance with all of the other qualified applicants, regardless of who's "more" qualified.

Some schools will look at the new grades, some won't allow repeats (MANY won't), some average the two, it varies. You'd have to see what the policy is for that program.
