Good morning.
Joe, I hope the day goes well with or without the coworker. Congrats on the weight loss Joe.
It shouldn't be too hard to get a script. I'm lucky I just hit "refill" on my app and it gets done. Even if there are no refills left they somehow connect with the doc and it gets renewed relatively quickly. I think part of the ease is my pharmacy, my doc, and myself are all on the same app.
Best friend is handling the cancellation of our trip and the refund. He got some refund from the tour company and now is hoping to get the rest from our insurance. My GI doc came through and wrote me an excusal worded the way the insurance company likes it. Best friend is confident it's a no-brainer the rest of the tour will be refunded. But we all know how insurance companies are, they'll figure some way to deny or ask for more information and then more information and more. We dealt with this when we had to cancel a trip during in the aftermath of the hurricane. Best friend, who isn't as nice and patient as me (he criticizes me for that aspect of my personality), was yelling at them "lady, do you listen to the news?? THERE WAS A HURRICANE IN MY AREA!" when they wanted to refund only 10% of the tour. He got 100% but not after sending them detail after detail and fighting with them. It's a shame cut and dry situations have to turn into drama.
Work was busy hectic. I had two patients and was in charge. Which is better than six patients, but while I can't pinpoint anything other than just going from task to task, I lost control of the day and clocked out at 21:00 feeling like a total loser.
I got my evaluation which was generally glowing and I'm getting the max raise. They said I do too much and should try to delegate to more senior members of the staff. Well, when they have six patients and are in the weeds, I'm not sure how that will work out with me delegating tasks to them. However, I get their point. My staff leaves on time generally and I'm there until 21:00. Something is off there.
I'm off today. The exterminator is coming today. Going to have him coming inside and spray for ants.
Good morning~ I've walked Tinker twice already this morning; I really wish we had a good-sized fenced area for her to be able to run around like I know she would love to do. Can't do it at a dog park as she is NOT enthralled (read: an ugly growling) when there are other dogs around. But, Tinker started her day today by wanting to play fetch with her blue, fuzzy, squeaking 'dog' . It is toooo cute when she leaps off the bed and runs full-tilt to get it, then leaping with a big, dramatic POUNCE on it before bringing it back to me, and she literally seems to FLY back up onto the bed to present it to me to toss again.
BiL came and took Nannie away to daycare.
So in order to perk myself up this morning, I went onto YouTube and listened to Richard Goodall on America's Got Talent, singing Journey's 'Don't Stop Believin' . He has a terrific voice and an interesting back story. He won the 2024 season and in his final performance, the band Journey actually came on and played the same song for him, and as the saying goes, he WOWed the audience. Heart-warming.
I guess I will go up to the kitchen and start a crockpot of chicken, diced onions, celery, diced tomatoes, green peppers, and I think this time I will use egg noodles instead of little potatoes. I'll save the potatoes for when I do the crockpot with stew beef, carrots, celery, chopped onion. Making myself hungry, but if I don't go up and get the food into the crockpot now, we won't be able to eat it tonight.
Eager to get my hearing aids adjusted, but that appt isn't until 3 PM. And of course, later I go retrieve the Nannie-person. Oh well, she can't be keeping up this daily routine forever......I don't think so, anyway. As she continues to lose her 'mentality' , it is more difficult to spend so much time with her. I think 9+ years is long enough, but I have read it can go on for 12-15 years. 🤨 OY! This kind of attitude might knock my halo off, but that can't be helped. I am continuing on with determination to see it through for THE DURATION, providing the duration ends before I do. Bleh.
TO THE CROCK-POT POST HASTE!
It shouldn't be so hard to get refills. It shouldn't be so hard to get the refund hou deserve when the circumstances obviously support it.
When Twin A and I were living with my parents that first year of nursing and I sometimes had to stay until 8:30 or 9:00 to finish everything I think she found that pretty awful, adding to a shift that was already 12 hours. Possibly she thought I just wasn't organized enough to get done on time. But anyway...
Sitting at the airport waiting to board. At least it is a direct flight. I hope Humberto and Imelda play nicely and head on out to sea.
My brain is mush. I've watched 6 hours of online continuing education for master gardeners. Some speakers were quite good, and 1 was super wonky about creating a teaching plan, and I finally just exited out. There was a really fun one about a farm in Maine that welcomes in school classes and they do all kinds of hands on stuff.
There are more classes tomorrow, but I don't plan to watch as much, as most of them will be recorded. It rained today, so I would have stayed inside anyway. Tomorrow is iffy, weather-wise,
My former employer used to attribute nurses finishing late to being unorganized. Yeah sure. How do you organize your work when a patient arrives from ED at shift change and a rapid response or code needs to be called as they come off the elevator. Or a patient transfers at shift change with an empty bag of 100 units of insulin, that had just been hung 5 minutes prior. When I was charge nurse I actually got a complaint that there were too many stretchers in the hall at shift change to allow for an arrival. The other stretchers were other arrivals.
Dh is going to grill steaks, and I am going to nuke some frozen corn and heat up some noodles and sauce. And slice up a fresh cucumber from the garden.

NJ22 here's hoping for no new fires
Stars sounds like a productive day. Hope they can finally get the hearing aids adjusted right
Work was pretty good yesterday despite an hour long meeting. Had some issues with our new referral website, but managed to get them figured out eventually. Still an awkward process but I am learning
Rest of the day was pretty quiet. Stopped at the library, exercised, and looked at some new groups I might start volunteering with
Today should be an ordinary day at work. The schedule says someone is off but I haven't been notified by email as usual, so I'm thinking it's a glitch. If so things should be fairly quiet. After work will stop at the local microbrewery
Will get up to about the mid 80s today, a bit warmer than yesterday
