Ado  I'm glad  she's willing to be a co guardian

Dianah  I don't think I've ever made anything  with Key limes

Stars it's good that you  recognize how difficult things are and that  you can't manage alone.  I hope you can find support from Al Anon or other organizations so it's not all on you

Tweety I think those are wise words, about fixing someone we didn't break.  All too easy to take responsibility from someone when they need too fix it themselves

Work was crazy again, didn't have time to help anyone but did get done on time.  Boss said I'm doing great on audits, so I expect our review this month should go very well.  Have checked today's schedule, should be OK as long as I don't get a lot of new work

Did grocery shopping and  did choir too.  I think whatever calling I had for choir is gone,  practice was even less fun than our vestry meetings.  I'll hold off until after Easter to make any move, but I'm pretty sure choir is over for me

Might meet J  for dinner tonight if he's up for it, if not then we might do Saturday, as I won't be getting together with Dad as he's still packing for his move next week

Weather will be in the mid  60s, hoping the building finally cools down enough so I don't have to use the AC again

I liked the female doc that saw hubby today. He asked her where the fluid comes from that keeps filling his (L) lung pleura, and she said it was from his liver; she said "Your liver is very sick and can't do it's job of removing fluids and other irritants from your body." She also told him that it's important for him to go to the Gut Dr next week, and one of the reasons is that they are concerned because he has a 'spot' on his pancreas that they want to look into. She also told him that taking Xanax and drinking at the same time is "very dangerous", and could be lethal. He has yet to start quitting, and I know that... because right after the Dr's appt he went to the liquor store and bought himself "a sleeve" (which is three small bottles) of vodka! Way to go, huh?

Nannie is also needing more attn because of her incontinence. If her bed has a wet spot on it in the morning, she makes the bed so no one will see it. (!) I made her strip below the waist this morning, and it was a good thing, because when I was wiping her off, she had lots of BM at her rectum, as she has a little area where the poop hides when she tries to clean herself. Her urinary meatus does not seem to have much strength to hold urine back...ie, the urine obeys gravity. (Do not pass GO, do not collect $200.)

Well, as is usual here, Nannie is conked out, napping; hubby is in his 'office' (the Ford) and he has already partaken of a liquid breakfast and lunch. He does eat actual food at suppertime, then snacks off and on for the remainder of the evening. A dietitian would have nightmares of horrors about how this diabetic man eats. He is the horse led to and standing at the edge of the water and not rehydrating himself.

I have a sensor showing a light on my dashboard that is indicating a tire-sensor is out of whack. I clunked over a curb the other day; I thought it was shorter and further away than it was, and bump-cuss-cuss-bump! At least I am still under warranty!

Going to sit outside on the front porch...

Stars, at least you don't have 2 flat tires from the curb-clunking like we had when Twin B was driving me to the airport in July. It's always something.

That doc sounds like she  was pretty no-nonsense about things. Diabetic and alcohol and not eating regularly == scary.

We sit and wait. The attorney is now about as optimistic as the first one I spoke with (NOT  optimistic). He sent an email that sounded kind of grumpy. Wanted to know what stepdaughter could do as a guardian from 100 miles away. Well, he wanted someone in Indiana and she's the only person there that is willing to take it on. Sister-in-law had second thoughts, and it's totally understandable. If this fails I guess we just sit and watch every few years while stepson crashes and burns, until the crash is fatal.

Ah, well, I got "stuff to do". The last few weeks, between shingles and travel and a cold, I've gotten behind both at work and at home. Not that I was ever "ahead" at home.

Hi. I feel like I’ve done nothing but sit all day with little to show. I drove to Seattle for

my third and final 12 lead ekg which showed I’m tolerating the new heart med. next step is another cardioversion in 2 weeks. I went to an appointment with dh to see financial planner and I think a lightbulb came on for dh that we will need to spend less. At least I hope. He still hasn’t finalized a retirement date, which means he still can’t finish Medicare enrollment. Sigh. I need to gather some financial info but the internet is stupid slow. Weather is overcast and light rain at times. I have a load of laundry going and am going to lie down soon as I didn’t sleep well.
No Stars, it’s good the doc was so frank. I hope it makes a difference.

Joe, yeah, if you’re not enjoying choir then time to step back.
Annie, that sounds like a tough row to hoe. But you need to take of yourself, too.
The lime cake sounds good but maybe too sweet for my tastes. I don’t even like frosting.
Hi Tweety.

Hello all!

Arrrrgggggghhhhh, No Stars!  Good the MD was straightforward with your dh.  However, he is not to "that" point yet, to admit the truth about his drinking and to take responsibility.  So sorry!  And then Nannie's continued incontinence, well...  as the saying goes, one day at a time.

nursej22, good you are tolerating the medication.  Hopefully you got a nap in.

Ado, I'd forgotten you had shingles!  Yup, that plus travelling plus a cold!  Pace yourself, to aid healing.

Joe, hope you and J can get together tonight.  Hmmmm, thinking of leaving choir, eh?  You are the one who can tell if you are fulfilled by attending, or not.  Sounds like you have been pondering leaving (more than just a week or so).  Best to you, as you decide.  How is your knitting coming?

I did errands yesterday and today, and today after grabbing supplies at the grocery store, I made three more Fruit of the Forest pies (they are in the oven now).  Will bring two for a rehearsal tomorrow.  The third is for dh.  ? ?  The rehearsal is tomorrow afternoon, in preparation for a program a week from tonight, at a board and care facility (mostly ambulatory ppl).

Then, Sunday our band will play for three hours in the afternoon, at the apple ranch.  It is harvest season, and the owner likes live music on the weekends.  It will be good to play!  Yesterday I bought a couple western shirts, to wear for such programs.

Have a good evening!
