Tweety I hope your next shift is better

Was busier than expected at work, with a new case and a good bit to do in the morning.  In the afternoon I found time to renew my CT and NC licenses.  By the end of the day it was quiet

Went to the bike shop again to get a new tube as the previous one they gave me was the wrong size.  They gave me another one, with the same gruff service as before, which I found out when I got home was also the wrong size.  So I went to a different bicycle shop, and brought the tire, and was able to get the right sized tube.  Finally got the tire back on the bike

Decided that I won't attend the over 50 group event on Sun, just too much going on that day.  Left the event in place and let the 2 remaining attendees know I won't be able to make it, in case they still want to attend

Today should be a pretty quiet day at work as long as I get no new cases.  Should be a quiet day after work too, just exercise

Going to be another cooler day in the mid 50s

Good morning!

Joe hope you have a good day.  No need to stress yourself and over extend your commitments.

Day off today.  Washing the bed sheets and found a couple of recipes I'm going to try a chickpea recipe which I believe I've made before and a tofu recipe.  Nothing too time consuming.  Going to the gym here in a few and then to the grocery store.

I've reached out to TMB and haven't heard back.  Hope everything is okay.

Have a good one!

I was wondering about tmb also. I am not too good at geography; I know he's told me roughly where he is located, but naturally I don't remember. I hope all is well with him and his family and their home and dogs.

So, at noontime, it all started when I accidentally dumped on the kitchen floor a whole bottle of stool softener that we don't give to Nannie anymore. I swept them up and put them in a baggie; Then it was a bottle of expired Fantomadine (sp?). They went into the bag of pills to be discarded at the pharmacy's "dead-meds" box. (well that's what I have dubbed it.) Then  I went up to my bathroom and saw where I had been extremely lax and hadn't cleaned up the little pieces of hair left on the bathroom counter after I trimmed my bangs two days ago. So I was moved to clean that up. Then I gathered all the hair appliances and put them in an empty drawer (from which I got rid of all of Nannie's old raggedy unused-for-9-years Christmas decorations).

Then I was inspired to look into the bathroom's heaped up linen closet, one shelf of which held a LOT of products tried and not used again, and OTC meds and stuff of hubby's which were all jammed to the back of the shelf and labeled as expiring in anywhere from 2020 to 2024. And many boxes of first aid bandages, etc, for all the falls hubby took and needed bandaging. (he'd holler, "I need a nurse!") which I will sort and box what is still  'sterile' and usable, and organize them altogether for future just-in-case use.

Now I have to walk Tinker, but plan on coming back in and dumping much of the skin/hair.etc containers of OLD products. Lots of wasted money, doncha know! No use in keeping them, either! I'm not sure if I will sort through old sheets and towels which are useless now for one reason or another. Maybe I will soon have a NEAT linen closet with organized items! It will be shocking to see! Only needed to do this several years ago, but now feels like a good time to me!

My fridge is cleaned out because I had to have BiL come over and wrestle with the light bulb I couldn't get back in the place it was supposed to be. I had to empty half of the fridge and take out a few glass shelves and wash them off. I placed things back in an organized fashion, and checked expiration dates so I could dump what is no longer edible and safe! Now THAT is a pleasure to open the fridge door and see EASILY what there is in there.

Not sure after that if I will tackle anything else, because I have to go retrieve the Nannie-person from daycare in three hours. Maybe this evening I will take all of her towels and sheets out of her linen closet and get that mess sorted and stacked nicely. When I was searching for sheets that I could use on her bed. I found a bunch of double-bed sheets that are worn thin and/or the fitted sheets that have lost their elastic edges; and we DON'T have any double-bed size mattresses in this house!  If anything is usable, I will donate it to the thrift store. I did buy her two sets of queen-size sheets yesterday, so I won't have to keep re-laundering the same set that have been used over and over for a LONG time now.

I dunno, it started with that dumped pill-bottle and took off from there. I hadn't planned on doing ANY of what I have done, it was just a spontaneous urge and energy blast.

So, the dog awaits! Later, y'all!

Cooler day today (currently 63F). And currently storming. I can hear the thunder and rain out there. I am quite cold in the office, which says it is 72.2F but there is cool air blowing on me and I can't adjust it. So I wrapped up in my blanket. My book club is doing our annual spooky-stories-by-the-campfire meeting tonight but might have to move it indoors. No other weekend plans other than church service. And that is very much OK.

I need to put together a presentation this afternoon. That might be all I manage to accomplish. Should probably go ahead and make a phone call to a complaining patient. It's the sort of thing I don't like doing so I put it off. But better to just get it done.

Got the dead pills delivered to the pharmacy's drop box. When I walked back out to my car I was struck by how it still looked all covered in pollen. POLLEN?? Near the end of OCTOBER? Anyway, I stopped at a drive-through car wash and now it looks better! When I got back home I decided I wasn't going to get into anything else today, because I do have that ol' lady to pick up in a little while; I hate to get hot into something and then forget to check the clock. They will start calling at 5 PM to remind us that the place closes at 5:30 PM. But that doesn't mean Nannie will get to stay there if I forget her. Oh well!

Got Nannie's wash going when I came home. Next up....the dryer! But not until I get back. (Wrote myself a note so I would see it when I brought Nannie in the house! My 'remembery' is a bit faulty sometimes. I do clean the lint from the dryer, but have heard several horror stories of someone's dryer starting a fire when they are out, and I just can't even IMAGINE how awful and sick I'd feel if Tinker was in that kind of situation!

I have scarv(f?)ED down the soup SiL left in the fridge for us. I gave Nannie's to her last night, telling her it was a casserole from SiL. For some reason if you give her SOUP, she 'just can't finish it all." even though the same amount is in the 'casserole' bowl. If it  is in a different container and you don't say the word 'soup', she eats every last scrap of it!

I'm off to get the wizened, the Wizened Wizard of Dementia. I'd close my eyes and click my heels together 3 times, repeating "There's no place like home...." And ya know what? There ISN'T any place I consider to be HOME.

It's been very windy today, but the forecasted atmospheric river has not arrived, yet. I treated myself to a chai latte today, and then spilled at the nail salon. Right after I got my nails done, I messed up the thumbs, so I stopped and got matching polish and will fix it at home. I went to dd's work to pick up a basket to fill for a table display, but someone took the basket! So we went to the venue where her gala is being held tomorrow night to pick it up. I stopped at Arby's for a beef n' cheddar, then off to the green grocer to fill the basket with produce for the display, to represent a "soup kitchen" that dd's organization helps to support. Then home. Ahh.

I'm going to get a  hair wash and style tomorrow to get dolled up for the gala. And then it will get blown apart in the windy weather. Oh well. And we are invited to someone's house for a Halloween party on Sunday. I am not used to being so social.

Has anyone here had experience with low copper? This is a new one to me.
