"It sure is BRIGHT out there this morning!" (observation by you-know-who.)
....But, the very first thing Nannie says to me every morning now, and I told SiL by text that it is all her fault for creating a monster.... "Are we going out today?" Gosh, if we only had a self-driving car, I could put her in the passenger seat, punch a route in, and the amt of time for the round-trip trip to take, and send her off for a ride! Yuh, dream on, Stars! You know, that is kinda/sorta a "concept of an idea"..... like, letting me have the house by myself so I can putter around doing some of the things I have kept putting off. The Senior Daycare Center had better get an opening for Nannie, and SOON!
My sister sent me an email that said Trump is supposed to be in my 'area' today. Thanks for the warning, sis; I'll be sure to stay away from the 'area' so I won't be in a "duck, or bleed" situation! There are now no fewer than 23 TRUMP signs on the lawns all down our road. 😝 🤐 (I will not go pull all the signs up, though; don't need doorbell cameras revealing me doing that !)
Today's itinerary?.......Laundry, trash collection, and some dishes to wash. Things I can ALWAYS count on! But I forgot to put the trash barrel out for pick-up this morning, and the truck has already gone by our house, so OH WELL!
Same-old-same-old ! I heartily dislike that I have been reduced to being a "Domestic Goddess". And Ms Nannie-Person hears/understands less these days, so that even if I start out in a considerably voluble voice when I say something to her, she turns her head and shows me a blank face and says "Huh?" And then I repeat it, and still get no reaction, so I. say. it. one. word. at. a. time. Inevitably, a few minutes later it is started again because she doesn't remember, so we go through the same thing AGAIN. 🙄
I am tired of complaining about Nannie and this situation, so I'll just hush my puppies and sign off here for now. Perhaps the day will bring a pleasant surprise of some kind? Maybe a check in the mail? I do know my car insurance sent me a letter that said I had been over-paying; apparently they never took hubby off the account after he passed away. Soooo, I don't know when my 'refund' will come, but I'm hoping it is quite a considerable amount since it has been a year I have been overpaying! There IS something good to be said about having a slick-spot in my brain, because I thought I'd sent them a death certificate, but I was sending out so many of them back then, this one slipped through the cracks.
Okay, time to do something else now, like put the wash into the dryer. (w00t?)
Hope you're feeling better and better, Joe, and have a good weekend.
Stars, it's good to get a refund for the car insurance. Everything helps.
We are having "abundant sunshine" according to the weather app and it's in the mid-70s but will warm up again mid-week. It would be fun to have a little fire in the firepit if I can persuade the rest of the family. Twin B has to work tonight but not 'til 11.
I've been reading The Women by Kristin Hannah -- did I mention that already?
Need to find a short spooky story for the book club's October gathering.
It is not sunny here. It is cold, and windy and rainy. yuck. Yesterday was nice, and likely the last time we will see the sun for a while. I took my bike to the shop for a tuneup and to check out the digital readout thingy that hasn't been working. It may still be on warranty so hopefully it will not cost too much to fix. And I stopped at a bookstore for a book about Belgium, then dropped off some old chemicals at the toxic waste disposal place.
Yesterday I took some ski gear to the local ski swap that raises funds to a local kids ski club. Hurray to off loading unused stuff that others can use. Youngest dear son, who drives a school bus, is taking a high school football team to an away game. He had to take the bus on a ferry and sent me pictures of the whitecaps on Puget Sound. Whee!
Joe, I do hope your tummy gets better soon. ds had something going last week. He lost 15 pounds. I suspect it was food poisoning. I think if it was norovirus, dh and I would have caught it.
Annie, I looked up a description of your book. It looks interesting.
We got our ballots in the mail yesterday. There are very few presidential signs around here, but lots for governor and state legislators.
Car insurance refund? Yes, Please!
Hi Dianah! And Tweety!
Hello all!
No Stars, YES to car insurance refund! If you overpaid by $50 per month, that would be a check for $600!! Ka-CHING!
nursej22, good your ds is feeling better and I agree, if it was something contagious, by golly you'd have gotten it! Photos of the waves sound great!
Ado, sounds like a good book.
We just returned from our friend's graveside service. We played while ppl came in, and until the casket was brought up and placed. Then there were two speakers (one a minister), and we played as the casket was lowered, then played while ppl stood in line to drop yellow roses on the casket. Then we went to the luncheon afterwards, which featured tofu curry, white rice, fried rice, pansit, and rolls with cream cheese inside. Plus hand-made Spring rolls (to order!). And a nice soft ice cream with fudge topping and peanuts on top. And enjoyed visiting with ppl there. We will likely see them on Sunday, for the memorial service at the church. Our large music group will do one sing-along, and we will report in an hour before the start of the service, to go over the song. Reception to follow.
Gosh, time passes, doesn't it?
Tomorrow we will scoot up to Oak Glen and get a couple pies for Sunday's reception. Friend's wife wants a table with apple pies, for the "Apple of my Eye," and we agreed to bring two. ❤️❤️
Have a good day and evening!

Stars it sounds like you had a productive day
Yesterday was a struggle as my symptoms worsened during the day...fatigue, vomiting, fever...and by the afternoon I asked if my coworkers could help with some of the less complicated tasks while I worked on a new case. Thankfully they jumped in and got a lot of it done, made my day a lot easier
After work got some stuff from the store...white bread, Jello, apple juice, bananas, and coconut water...that I thought my system could tolerate. Tried some but still had some issues, although was a bit better by the end of the day and tested negative for Covid
Thankfully I have today off, and this morning the fever is gone and I was able to eat toast and bananas with only a few grumbles. Was going to go to the Arboretum but will skip that and stay home and do baking instead
Will be up to about 70 today, slightly warmer than is normal for this time of year
