NJ22 glad the dog was OK after getting away

Stars I wonder if a service club like Lions club would accept  phone, I know they accept glasses

Tweety turnover and lack of staff seem to be common problems

Ado that was a good idea, substituting bananas for eggs

Was not too bad at work yesterday, though I did stay about 20 minutes late to get some stuff done.  At least I got to take a full  lunch and have counseling over lunch

After work was quiet,  did the laundry and stopped at the library

Today will start work a bit early and work through lunch to insure I can leave at 2pm as planned.  Not sure what I'll do after work, I'll figure that out later

Will be bit warmer today, in the low 70s, with plenty of rain again

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day and get out on time early.

Off today.  Not much going on.  Going to probably watch a movie and go to the gym.  I usually watch the movie on my phone, while on the treadmill and finish at home.  It's 72 and going to the mid 80's.  For me this is perfection in weather.

80 degrees and sunny; there are clouds way over at the horizon, but I don't think they are going to be 'ours'.

Still have yet to hear from the woman who sits for Nannie and Momo. I can get my hair done Tues or Weds but  need to hear from her before I can tell the hairdresser which day.

Today is the day BiL and SiL go to a lawyer to see about guardianship for Nannie, and maybe Health Care POA, too. I ain't sweatin' it.  I found a piece of paper, a statement that had to do with hubby's life insurance that Nannie took out on him. If I understand it correctly, it is $5,000. But I have to get the birth certificate and some other legal papers to be able to collect on it.

I just got a call from our PCP checking up on how I was doing. He said he has been thinking of me, but wanted to give me some time before we talked. He hated that I had to go through all this. He said any time I need him, he has my back, and to give him a call. Nice, huh?

Time to get Nannie up. Whoop-dee-do. More later......

Also, many praises for Momo, who has tremendous capacity to hold her water all night long, and she only poops after she eats her breakfast. I bring her down to the den, put down her food, and leave the room for 5 or 10 minutes, and by the time I get back to the den she has accomplished all her business on the underpad, and is back in her little round bed on the sofa next to where I sit. No 'walkies' needed. The only outings she participates in is when I carry her, to and from the car, or out to the mailbox to check for mail.

Sweet Momo.  Did Nannie name you the beneficiary of the life insurance she took out on your husband?   Seems odd given your stated relationship with her that she would take out a life insurance policy on your behalf.  If not, then let the guardians take care of the insurance policy as the money might be for Nannie.

I'm not sure who the beneficiary is; I just found this piece of paper last night, so I'll have to investigate. I would think (but that doesn't always work with reality) that I would be beneficiary. But the insurance was taken out on both sons, years ago, before I met hubby; maybe for them to have something after she goes. But in hubby's will, it says everything that was his is now mine. So, the answer is ????, ie a mystery for now.

Gotcha.  Confused me you said she took out the life insurance policy on your husband.  If it's a life insurance policy is on herself designated for your husband when she dies, then yes you can most likely as his wife and heir collect on it when she dies.  Parents take out policies so their kids don't struggle with funeral expenses when they die.

If it's a policy is on him, that that doesn't specify you, then no it goes to her.  (This is what my parents did, in case the kids died before them they could pay for a funeral. I think they changed it around so my brother and sister can cash them out now.  I think I already told the story that I was left out) Best to have that sorted out with proper documentation so that when that happens you can collect.

I do remember when we first moved down here....it was shortly after the youngest son said to Nannie, as he threw down her car and house keys, "To hell with you; I'm tired of all your sh**, and I won't be back." and a few weeks after that hubby convinced Nannie to cash in her youngest sons life insurance, because he refused to come over and help her out in any way.

Maybe I'll throw it all up in the air and see what lands first!

Drove out w/ Nannie and Momo for about two hours. I still haven't actually located the Shredding Event, and that's because the street is in a shopping area parking lot, and it isn't what I consider the street number but  the ROUTE it is on (ie the street's the same but becomes the route # at a certain point, and it is WAY off the road, according to the stupid map on line.) Nevermind. Too difficult to 'splain. But now I think I know where it is......but on line it says Saturday the 29th.....well, Sunday is the 29th, Saturday is the 28th. Maybe I should go out Saturday morning, and if they aren't there, I'll go out again on Sunday morning.

Nannie said 37 times before I lost count: "Boy, THIS place is BIG." and "Look at all the cars!" She also kept thinking that certain streets were where her  parents used to live. Nope, that was 2+ hours away from here. Gosh, even Momo was tired of her! When we got home, I drove around the back of the house and hustled Nannie into the bathroom, and Momo went right to her underpad. I gave each of them their suppers. Before I got even halfway through my supper, Nannie was done with hers, and fussed about needing the tray removed from her lap. I said I would get it in a minute, when I finished my supper. But that wasn't good enough, and she kept making sounds that were a cross between a TSK and a grunt. So I took the tray off her lap and set it aside, then sat down to eat more of my already cold supper, and there was Nannie trying to haul herself over the footrest of the recliner...oh yeah, she had to go to the bathroom AGAIN. Got her in there 'in time'. Doncha hate it when someone has to pee and after a few minutes later when you ask "Are you through?" and they say, "I don't know." ?Well who knows if you don't? She squeezed  a few times and could do nothing. After I got her back to her seat,I went upstairs for 0.5 mg of Xanax, then came back down to finish eating. "Oh, are you still eating your supper?"

Yep, I am tired of her today, for sure!  I may end up taking another 0.5 if she doesn't hush. Right now she is explaining the news stories to me. I said, "Nannie, I know. I am listening to the very same broadcast as you are. I hear it and I understand it, so you don't need to explain it to me." ....and she got huffy, "Well, EXCUSE me!"

Momo is after a fly, leaping, jumping and snapping at it. If it will just LAND I would be more than happy to whack it.

I am being Ms Crabiness tonight. EGADS!

Well, I finally got my new bike. She is a beautiful metallic blue. I was going to ride when I got home, but I am so tired I'm just going to put my head down for a half hour or so. Will come back in a bit, maybe.

Hello all!

No Stars, I am following your journey, and you are in my prayers.  So glad you have little Momo.  Things will get sorted out, one at a time.

nursej22, congrats on the new bike!  Hope you were able to rest a bit.  Maybe try it out tomorrow??

Joe, hope you didn't have to work late today.

Tweety, what movie didja see?  Hope you enjoyed your day off.

We went to Disneyland again on Monday, then I walked on Tuesday, about 2.5 miles, with friends.  Dh and I have spent some time preparing a 20-min program to do at the church's Fall Festival, Sunday afternoon.  I made a lo-carb cauliflower soup that was pretty good, though as it was blended, it prompted dh to mention he prefers "pieces of veggies in it."  Oh well!  Next time!

Not much else going on here.  After the Fall Festival, we have Dapper Day to get ready for, 11/12.  Son and DIL's anniversary is coming up.  I think this is 3 years??  I have a card for them, just need to sign it and mail it.

OK, need to go check the laundry and then get some eats on the table.

Have a good evening!

Hallelujah, Amen! I did not even HEAR Nannie getting out of her recliner, which is only 10 to 12 feet away from me(and she was using the remote for it, no less). I looked over at her chair and realized she was in the bathroom again. A few minutes later she came out of the bathroom and said she believed she was going to go to bed. It was all of 8:30 PM. I was ecstatic!

So, Momo and I are about to up to my bedroom, to R-E-L-A-X !

Disappointing that not a single person has written anything after the 3 places we entered obits for hubby. The one my sister put in at the funeral home, with a photo, is no longer on line. It will come out in the Asheville paper again on Sunday. Would be nice if SOMEBODY remembered him in print. Oh well. oh well.
