Hello all!
Joe, what is your next knitting project? That's satisfying, to get ALL one's work done. If you can help others, fine, but at least you got yours done. Birdwatching planned for this weekend?
Today will be a quiet day, to do chores and errands. The cats will be glad we are home!
Have a good day!
G'day.
Joe, hope you have a good day.
J22, how cool to see seals. I try to take pics of dolphins when I see them around here but it's not easy.
Ado, odd so many people would walk off the job like that although I've come close myself over the years.
Dianah hope you have a good day. I hope the new employee works out, just a strong personality but not horrid. Yes she is working my floor and my shift.
We are getting a $400 bonus per employee because we met some of the goals of the hospital. The max was $700 but we didn't meet all the goals. Some of the goals like "increasing OR cases" is out of regular staff's control. Still that's $400 more than I thought. Will save it for inflation spending money.
I'm off today. Waffles woke me up at 5:00 to be fed. I thought I'd trained her on the new feeding time with the change in time but evidently not. I made her wait but got up. Had to take a short nap later. Doing laundry and having lunch now.
I love Chinese and Asian food. I have a lot of cookbooks featuring Asian cuisine but lately tend to be getting stuff off of Pinterest instead of my many cookbooks.
Loved the photo of the nubbins of the seals peeping out of the water. I can't help but say this....Years ago I had a Manx cat named "The Most Adorable Nubbins"...of course it was "Nubbins" for short. Miss her, still. She really, truly was adorable.
Hubby said we can't get any cats until Nannie dies. Seems she will live forever, though. I will have to find one of those furry, purring cats (toys), like some old ladies in a nursing home have, to help them stay calm.
We had rain last night, some rain today; it is 73 degrees and it is NICE, with the winds from the South. Don't know if we will get any of the promised thunderstorms.
I have to go upstairs and start that shredding process. Gluck-phooey. But it is better than sitting here watching Nannie sleep. And I believe hubby has gone back out to the Ford.
By the way, I asked him last night what he said to the nurse to tell his PCP. He said he told her to tell the doc that he didn't need any more of the Librium because he has no urge to drink, doesn't need the 10 mg to step down to. He told me he still had 12 capsules left. (REALLY!!???!!) I was surprised , because a few days ago, over the weekend, he told me he only had TWO left and that was why I was trying to get him the 10 mg.caps. I am confused! I suppose it could be the Xanax making him plod along walking like a very careful zombie, lest he fall. With that way he is walking, he suddenly looks quite aged, with rounded back and eyes on the ground. Huh. He continues to act duddy.
I don't know if he also needs a hearing aid, but I suspect he does. As does Nannie, but she ain't gitting one! I have to repeat almost everything I say to either one of them. What gets me is, Nannie asks "WHAT?" when I am talking to hubby. And vice versa. Sometimes I think it is because their attention is elsewhere, or maybe nowhere? I don't think I mumble.
I am boring myself to pieces, so I am going to shred all that paper to pieces!
Finished shredding. Had to separate the papers without my name and address on them, for recycling. What ended up being shredded? Two 30 gal. kitchen trash-bags CRAMMED full! Glad that's over with! Took me several hours from start to depositing the bags in the big trash bin.
Nannie just said, "Ikwcs hfohb 8ewnncoa dij jafjpxe WET." (verbal salad) I just said "Yes, indeed!" Not sure if she meant the weather outside or what she's sitting on!
Hubby's bringing supper soon. Same old, same old. But as my son-in-law says, "It fills a hole, and it makes a turd." (Yes, he really has said that.)
Hope there is something decent to watch on TV tonight.
Hi, late note. I was watching Netflix and fell asleep. dh has gone to have dinner with eldest ds. I am going to have popcorn for dinner. I had a great run at the park this morning, went 3 1/2 miles. It was cold, but no wind, so just about perfect. I stopped at the grocery store to buy coffee beans and a cup of coffee from the deli, but the deli was closed. So I was going to splurge and get a cup of drip coffee from the Starbucks in the store. The Starbucks girl was determined that she was going to grind my coffee beans, even though I declined. Yes, I know they will grind them. No, I'm not going to tell you my filter--I use a French Press. No. really. I. don't. want. you. to grind. my. coffee. beans. Thank you.
We went to look at artificial Christmas trees, again. We have been looking for a couple of years, and to me. one is as good as another. I think dh decided on one, but he's still not ready to buy it. Sigh. I had plans to do some yard cleanup, but fell asleep. Oh well, it will be there tomorrow. I see there are new episodes of the The Crown on Netflix, so I'll probably look at that tonight.
dh is already talking about going back to work. His old employer offered him a part time job. Oy vey. I told him I don't think he should work more than 20 hours a week, but I won't be surprised if that turns into 50 or 60 again. Darn, I was liking him cooking a couple of meals a week.

Tweety hope the new orientee works out
Ado I wonder if it's the normal turnover that accompanies change
NJ22 are those river otters?
Dianah that sounds like fun
Work ended on a quite busy note, was not able to help anyone else although I was able to get all my work done, except a new file which I'll work on today
After work went for a walk as it got up to 76, although the sun had already set. Watched Star Trek and The Next Generation. Worked on knitting, decided the scarf is long enough, just need to finish up the loose ends
Today hopefully will be quieter at work, nothing unusual going on after work
Will be colder today, in the upper 40s. Think it will get up to only 40 tomorrow
