NJ22 I remember that, Herring would go to Star Trek conventions

Stars that is aggravating

Ado I don't like shoe shopping either

Tweety sorry the refrigerator repair turned out to be a mess

Was kinda tired most of the day, no apparent reason.  Work was mostly good although a whole bunch of documents arrived midday to review which made the afternoon busier than expected

After work had a Zoom meeting which ran longer than expected and had to run to the credit union and then buy some office supplies.  A fairly busy day overall

Today will likely be the same.  The gay group has a potluck this evening, going to make a mushroom appetizer, will get it ready during lunch and then do the cooking after work, should be done in time for the potluck

Going to be a bit warmer today, in the low 60s

Good morning!

Joe, enjoy your potluck.

Stars, hope the aches and pains are better and

Nothing much on the agenda today.  Washing the sheets already and will get a haircut and see about some meal planning and go to the gym.

Remembered to order some flowers for Mother's Day and they actually are going to deliver them today.  Usually when I wait this long there is no option to get it there on time.  Wonder if their business is down due to the economy.

Just about everyone is complaining about how lame our Nurse's Week Celebration is this year. People complain every year, but this year especially.  I'm never one to complain because I don't care and I'm a boomer that doesn't need a trophy, just give me a paycheck and benefits.  Still I would agree they are off their game this year.

Hope you guys have a good day.

I remember one Nurse's Week when the agency I worked for gave us all a piece of red construction paper on which they printed and proclaimed their "appreciation for how hard you all work for us." Hope it didn't break their budget! I said that I don't work FOR THEM. I worked for my patients!

Got up early and got Nannie ready for BiL to pick her up and drive her to daycare. Too bad it is not "WEEK care"!

My left knee is very, very uncomfortable, as in painful when I walk. I found some lidocaine cream and slathered it all over and above and below the knee. I also have located a knee brace (a sleeve that squeezes) In a minute, when the cream dries, I will pull up the knee brace and pray it helps. I DO have to go to the pharmacy and HT for dog treats and dog food, Oh, and more yogurts for Nannie. But, once I get back I am going to rest and elevate the left leg. The rest of the itinerary can suffer being NOT done. I actually have a real, genuine reason to take it EASY!    [.....except for getting Nannie from daycare at 5 PM.  😣]

You would think that as many times as I have gotten lost around here, thinking that the roads make sense, I would realize that they don't!  I decided to go past a bunch of road construction because the road I usually take was blocked. So, naturally I thought I could keep going and come to the point where I could turn right and resume my way to Rt 73. Nope, just ended up in road construction area after road construction area. I finally found a road name I recognized, but it STILL didn't go where I thought it might. Then I saw a sign for a different county, so I KNEW I had to go back, and then I discovered I had actually driven in a very LARGE circle and ended up in the construction I had  started through to my supposed "short-cut". Thankfully, by backtracking, I found my way back to Rt 73. WHEW! I had been lost WAY, WAY, WAY out in the country...... for 1 + 1/2 HOURS! It was a beautiful drive, or would've been if I knew where I was!  I didn't cross any roads that I thought might take me to some MAIN area, no Interstates, no signs, no towns, no nuthin" ! GADS! It is so frustrating to me because previously in my life I have always had an EXCELLENT sense of direction, but THIS PLACE, any time you go off the main road, you end up passing farm after farm and never find what you think you're going to find, and like I said, when I saw "Welcome to Stanley County", I KNEW that wasn't right! But, at least I DID get home eventually. I don't have any GPS in the car or on my phone, no map in the car. *SIGH*.

When I have lived in other places, I always would go down some road to purposely get lost and find out where it came out. You can't do that here; the roads go on FOREVER, and they are all in the countryside.

My knee feels slightly better, but not because I got to relax and elevate it, maybe ice it. The knee brace has helped some. The pharmacist said I should ask the doc for a Prednisone pack. I'd a whole lot better like to get a Lidocaine and Prednisone shot right in the knee! But that will involve trying to get an appointment next week, and the doc would send me to get an x-ray or two, and then, maybe I'd get a referral, and then....it'd be MONTHS before I would get an appt, and by then the pain will have, as in the past, disappeared. Y'all know how it all works.

"You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get"...... what you don't want, like an appointment for, oh. maybe October or November!

Two hours 'til the Nannie-Person's Pick-up-Time. woo00tttttt. 😫

Hello all!

No Stars, so sorry you are having issues with pain.  Agree, trying to get a specialist appt takes a long time...  MAYBE you could get it started, at least?  You're right, though, the pain will probably be gone by the time you get an appt, and then you wouldn't be "eligible" for an injection.  Do you have a map of the area's roads?  I like having something VISUAL so I can get the overall "feel" of an area.  Too bad you couldn't have enjoyed the long drive more.

Joe, I hope today ended up not too shabby, in spite of yesterday's documents.  Mushroom appetizer sounds GOOD!

Tweety, I just SMH about your fridge repair ppl!  Need a beach photo.

I slept OK last night -- in two shifts, as it were.  Slept 4 hr, then woke at 3 and didn't get back to sleep till after 6.  Slept 3 hr after that.  I got two loads of laundry done today and made some "crackers."  I put chopped jalapenos on half of them, they turn out pretty tasty like that.

I went to bed last night with a little hitch in my gitalong -- dunno if it was in my low back or in my left hip, but turning in bed was painful unless I went slowly and juuuuuuuust a certain way...   I felt it today too, when getting up after sitting for awhile.  I have been exercising moderately each day, but rested yesterday when the pain occurred.    I decided to continue exercising today, a little more gently.  I was able to get through most of my routine.  I know keeping a strong core will help with the aches and pains of growing older.

We will have a Zoom call on Sunday with the ds's, for Mother's Day, am looking forward to that.  We will do Zoom Sabbath School tomorrow, as usual.  Not much else planned.  Dh is enjoying practicing on the bass.  I ordered him a Halo Bolt charger, for in his car.  So, if the battery is kaput, he can charge it with the Halo.  I used mine once in six years, and after that and sitting in the car, unused, the rest of the time, I still had two bars of charge (out of four).

Aaaaaaaaannnnnnndddd, it is 92 degrees today, supposed to get up to 98 degrees tomorrow!!  It will cool down on Monday, though, so we aren't QUITE into Summer yet.

Have a good evening!

I am tired. We worked 6 hours today, loading and unloading plants to move them from the propagation/growing area to the plant sales location. I did 14000 steps. Tomorrow I will be a cashier so I can rest my sore heel.
We stopped at Sheri's for dinner( sort of like Denny's). On Friday evening and we were the only customers. Our area is really hurting from lack of Canadian visitors.
