Dianah thanks for sharing the recipe

Stars that does sound fun, I could see how that would be freeing

Ado hope you get the car title and check straightened out

NJ22 I saw bee houses like that in Madison

Tweety that is an awful lot of admissions

Work day started crazy with a whole  bunch of emails and then continued with a whole bunch of documents to review.  Things started to get easier in the afternoon an I only had to stay a few minutes late thankfully.  Hoping today is easier although we have 1 person out

After work was kinda busy too, stopped at the store and did some cleaning and laundry and exercised

Supposed to meet J for dinner tonight, hope he doesn't cancel yet again

Will get into the upper 70s today

I deleted my post before I even posted it! Try this again!

Slept very poorly last night, maybe 3 hours altogether, but I feel like it was less. Had a bunch of errands to do: banking, oil and air-filters changed, grocery store, fill up the gas tank, and collected the $13 I won from two scratch off tickets from the convenience store. I would've liked it if it had a comma after the #13, and I could add, oh, I dunno, 3 or 6 zeros! Dream on. But why can't I be one of those people who decided at last minute to buy a ticket and win those thousands of dollars? I have seen stories about folks winning big on one ticket and then winning 'largely' AGAIN on another ticket. Oh well, we know what a loser I am!!

I feel like crap being dragged through the mud. Told hubby he was going to have to go get him and Nannie some take-out for supper. I believe I'll have toast and broth.

Oddly, when I got home, Nannie was AWAKE, hubby was sort of half-sleeping (if there is such a thing).

I'm out of Xanax so I had a lot of trouble trying to get my mind to shut up and go to sleep. Maybe I'll try some Benadryl tonight; can't get my refill until Sunday.

Boy-oh-boy, you should see hubby's right ankle where he got all those fire-ant bites! Lotsa bites, little pus-filled blisters, reddish and edematous. Fortunately it will go away in a few weeks, but I'm keeping an eye on it because, you know, he is diabetic. Of course if he got to the point where it was worse, I'm not sure if I can talk him into going to the Dr's office, the ER or Urgent care, but if it gets worse, we are going to have a row over that.

My gosh. My phone rings, and it is a hearing aid place in Asheville that wanted me to make an appointment to have my hearing checked again. I told her that I didn't live in Asheville any more. So, Nosy Nannie wanted to know, "What was that all about?" So I told her, briefly and simply, and she still didn't understand. I said it was nothing she had to worry about and nothing for me to worry about, but she still looked confused. I told her it also wasn't anything she had to understand!

And, no, hubby has still made no phone calls, just in case anyone was wondering.

We're not as removed from the ER as we were in the old building. There has been a child carrying on for many minutes. I believe he/she is being transferred.

That road is looking pretty good!

It is 89 degrees! Hubs predicted that once we got past the cold and rain it would zoom up to 90 and never look back. But there is still rain in the forecast for the next week. Temps in the high 80s until Wednesday when they drop just a little.

Took the cat (Turbo) to the vet today and she got steroid and antibiotic injections again for her stomatitis. I talked to the doctor about the surgery (removing all her teeth) and my concerns about whether she was healthy enough to go through that. The doctor seemed to back off a bit as to how effective it would be or for how long. For now I guess we just keep doing this. She hadn't lost as much weight as I feared and seemed reasonably well hydrated. If Hubs had his way, we'd be saying goodbye to all 3 of the senior pets sooner rather than later. And I worry about this one's quality of life, but the doctor said she doesn't think we're at that point yet.

Ado, hugs to you, it's so hard when our senior pets still have quality of life to some extent, plus we're so attached to them.  It's difficult at ANY time to make the decision to euthanize.  Wow, 90 degrees is hot!

No Stars, I am one of those ppl who plays lotto very rarely, and ALWAYS loses.  Well, let's not say that I "always" lose.  Rather, I always DON'T WIN!!  :D  Sometimes toast and tea sound good, to me.  Toast and broth, same.  I too slept poorly.  Didn't get to sleep till after 4am.  Dunno why.  Brain just kept going.  Doing OK so far on what sleep I got (hark back to days pre-retirement, when I would routinely work on 4-6 hours of sleep).

Day off today, Tweety?

Joe, hope work went OK, no last-minute rushing to get things done.  Hope you are able to meet J for dinner tonight.

Yesterday I baked a chocolate cake.  Then today I made the "crack slaw."  Dh loves it, and I haven't made it in awhile.  We will enjoy it tonight.

Tomorrow we plan to go to the Renaissance Faire.  Hmmmm, I better get out my "garb" and make sure it fits and is presentable.  Temp should be 72, not 90!

Now, next weekend temps will be 89-90.  But that's how it goes here.

Have a good evening!

G'day!

Stars, I bet all of us in this little group have "aged out" of some activities.  LOL

Yes, today was a work day.  My 4th 12 hour shift of the week.  I got to be a charge without patients again.  I started the day with a nice report I wrote on all 32 patients and lost it by 9AM.  I looked and looked and had everyone looking and never found it.  So I made a new one as the day went on and during report with the night charge someone found it.  Said it was on the counter on the nursing station.  It was not.  Someone is messing with me.  LOL.   Didn't have as much movement as most of the patients were new admits from yesterday.

Off the weekend.

Nannie and I were watching TV, waiting for the ball game to start. Couldn't locate hubby! Looked in the Ford, his bedroom, the bathroom, the back yard, across the street. I went into his room two of the three times; I went up there each time was within maybe half an hour apart. I walked into the room and said "_____, are you in here?" No answer. A while later I heard sounds of feet on the bedroom floor over my head, so I went up and said, "Where have you been?" He said he was in his bed, sleeping. Well I never saw him in the bed! He has a dark room and only uses the hall light to see by. I was worried after an hour or more that he might have fallen somewhere outside and none of the neighbors saw him. He said he was sleeping. I know he didn't have the 02 concentrator on, which he always uses when he is laying down. I still don't know where he was, but an empty bed is an empty bed, and when I said his name and asked, "Are you in here?" No answer. So, hmmmm. Maybe I can get a good look at him when he gets up to pee, see if there's any bruises or whatnot.      *sigh*

I remain, yours truly,

Yup, allow me to repeat myself, and then repeat myself, and even repeat myself!  I am 'catching' the mental-capacities of the other two inmates here. Blah.
