Yesterday ended up being busier than expected at work, with a new case and a bunch of new documents to review, but thankfully not as bad as it was last month

After work had a Zoom meeting with one of my groups.  Rest of the night was pretty quiet

Storms woke me up in the early morning but I was able to get back to sleep

Tonight after work meeting my church friend D for dinner, now that she's recovered sufficiently from her shingles.  We were going to invite our friend T but he's sick so she invited the minister instead.  

Will be an unusually warm day today in the upper 70s

Good morning.

Hi Joe.

Waffles let me sleep in this morning an hour past her breakfast time.  Felt good.  I woke up somewhere in the middle of the night wondering if I set my alarm and didn't want to oversleep and then remembered I'm off today.  

Washing sheets and heading to the gym soon.  The bug exterminator is here spraying outside.  Thankfully, I don't have much of a bug problem but for some ants here and there. Will go the gym and do some meal prep for the weekend.

J22 hope you have a great tour over there in Europe.

[No Stars In My Eyes]

My gosh, it is only 9 AM and I have been up for nearly an hour and a half! (blink, blink!) I had to get up to get Nannie ready for her day at daycare. SiL is working this morning, so BiL came to pick her up at 8:45 AM, but he doesn't do any of Nannie's personal care.

I am having coffee and have the TV on TCM with a 1940 Errol Flynn movie----something about pirates and the Spanish Fleet. I'm not really paying close attention; I just really like TCM and hardly ever get to watch any of the old movies, so it is comforting for me to have it on even if it is only 'background'. And I look up and see so many of the old character actors from back then, it is like seeing 'old friends'.

About ten minutes ago, a cardinal kept flying to the back door and perching momentarily on the lower edge of the windowsill, fluttering its wings. I put out some "Critter Food" and there already is a 'gang' of birds and a few squirrels out there. It's not like there are no food choices in the wild for them right now, but the seeds, corn, and peanuts I put out are easy pickings, and I am enjoying watching all the comings and goings.

It is likely I will do something......something!----in the house today, but I am not picking out a particular room or task right now, because when I tell y'all I'm going to do something, somehow, then, I don't do it! 

It is supposed to get up to 80 degrees today   (🤣 whoopdee-doo.) Whatever happened to springtime weather? We go from cold and windy one day to hot the next.

Anyway, Errol and his pirates have overcome the Spanish Fleet, rescued M'Lady, Errol got in a few kisses, the Queen declared her subjects would now be free, and the big ship sailed off into the sunset. The End.

So I'm turning the TV off and going to wander about upstairs and see what I feel like getting up to......

Hi, Tweety!

The boys tried one of their video-game inspired meals last night (but forgot a crucial step on one of the dishes). Oh well, at least it was something different 🙂

My book club is actually meeting tonight and I'm trying to muster up the energy to go.  Must have slept wrong because I've an ache in the left back/ribs. 

The respiratory virus season seems to have ended in terms of driving up our ED and inpatient volumes. The last flu admission was over 2 weeks ago and the last Covid admission was over a month ago. Oklahoma has 7 probable and 2 confirmed measles cases but they seem to be confined to another part of the state and are all known to be related to the outbreak in west Texas.

Pat me on the back, because I vacuumed and washed the front hall and kitchen floors....and it is only 11:50 AM!

Now Saratoga Trunk is on TCM, from 1945, with Ingrid Bergman and Gary Cooper. Gary Cooper has a flat butt, as does Eroll Flynn. Not that it matters, I just wanted to add my observation. 🙃

OK, floors are prolly dry, so I'm going to.....uh, do something else (keeping with my vow to not jinx my energy by saying what task I will be doing next).

Hello. We toured some WWI battlegrounds and cemeteries todays and had a nice lunch at a Flemish B&B. Weather and the day's subject matter were a little dreary. We are now in Bruges, another pretty town dating from the 1400's. 
Stars, I sense a burden has lifted with the Nannie's new schedule. W00t!
