NJ22 it's surprising how common homelessness is, even my aunt in her little farming town of 8000 has homeless people

Stars a UTI seems likely, they can cause increased confusion and other symptoms in the elderly

Tweety that's a crazy amount of admissions, hope the next shift is easier

Work was pretty busy yesterday, more than I expected due to getting another new case and a meeting, but I got everything done and had time to do some stuff planned for today.

After work I went to a local pickleball court to practice some serves and just get practice hitting the ball.  Found it takes more effort than you'd suspect, but that's probably to keep the ball from moving too fast.  Stopped at the library then exercised once I came home

Have made a renewed effort to focus on mindfulness, which is difficult as my mind is normally in gear most of the time.  But necessary, I've noticed that when I'm not mindful and present my jaw and face tense, which is probably why I have so many problems with tooth grinding

Based on my schedule, unless something unexpected comes up it should be a fairly quiet day.  After work will head to church to help with the Good Friday service.  Might be a small crowd as they also have a noon service

Another day in the mid 50s, will likely rain this evening

Hello~

SiL just left with Nannie (1:20 PM), after giving her a shower and getting her dressed. They are going to an Urgent Care Center because the doc's office either didn't have any openings, or they are closed for the Holiday W/E. Then she will keep Nannie until after they eat supper, which gives me all of 4 + 1/2 hours to myself. w00t?

Soooo, I am going to stop here and go upstairs, to start in on seeing what more can be thrown out. Think I'll put on some CDs and sing while I am eliminating the messes in each room up there.

Toodles!

Hello!

Joe, I have heard mixed reviews about pickleball.  Most ppl really like it.  "It's less work than tennis, and more fun!"  But one man (relatively tall) said when he tried it, he had to bend over so much to hit the "ball" that his back hurt afterwards.  I know another tall man who plays tennis a lot, and who also enjoys playing pickleball.  He never mentioned that HIS back hurt after pickleball, so perhaps it's a technique thing??  Anyway, I hope you are able to find ppl to play with.

I made a Stuffed Poblano Chilis recipe last night, and it was good!  Unfortunately, it only made enough for two meals for us.  But it was tasty (flavorful) and not real heavy, though it had shredded pepper jack cheese in it and on it.

It's supposed to rain this weekend.  I mean, not rain, but RAIN!!  We were going to go to a one-day bluegrass festival in Long Beach, organized by a friend.  But with the rain, it has been rescheduled to May 4.  So, we will likely be inside this weekend, hunkered down!

Dh recently changed the password on our router, thought someone had tapped into it, as it was very slow, and sometimes hiccuped, where we were kicked offline.   It was a real hassle, but he got it done, and re-set all our devices (kindle, aura, phones, laptops, etc).  Good on him!  He had to call their support line, and though ours was no longer under warranty, the person on the other end of the line was VERY helpful.  I say, if dh -- a retired computer systems analyst!! -- had trouble, how are regular folk like ME supposed to do these things???  I tell you, this cyber-techno-mumbo-jumbo has gotten out of hand!

Rant over.  Soapbox put away.

We got our state tax refund, and the check we mailed to cover the federal income tax owed, has been processed, so we are officially DONE with tax season!

I walked with my friend S on Tuesday, and took some photos, attached them below.  Have a good day!

Nice walk you took us on with the photos, dianah. And not to make you feel bad, but the weather here this weekend is going to be sunny and 76-80 degrees.

So far, I cleaned off the desk and bedside table, and made 'em (temporarily, I suppose) dust-free and tidy.

Momo is under the bedcovers; maybe she doesn't care for the CD's I'm playing? I really haven't got them playing too loud! First I played Cat Stevens CATCH BULL AT FOUR, and now John Lennon's  ICON is about to end.  Next to go in will be SOLID 80's GOLD mix. I don't know where any of my stored ones are, or I would also be playing Amadeus, Talking Heads, Merle Haggard, and The McGarrigle Sisters, The Police, and the sound track from the bio-film about a famous opera singer whose name I can't recall, nor can I recall the name of the actor/singer who played the opera singer!. DERN! But anyway, I have eclectic taste music-wise.

But enough! Back to whatever it is I am doing...........

They gave Nannie an antibiotic for a bladder infection, to take q12 hrs, which means I will have to wake her up early-ish to take the next dose, but if it does the trick on calming her UTI-inspired craziness down, I'll work with it!

Dory had a checkup at the vet today. She was found to have hookworm so she just got some pills for that. Otherwise all good. We talked about the increase in periods of anxiety. If starting back the selegeline doesn't solve it there are other meds to try. They will watch her when she and the cats board with them next week while we go to see the eclipse.

Stars, we heard the Talking Heads on the radio a day or two ago and it brought back memories. Oh, yes, and Hubs just brought our vinyl albums in from the garage. We had moved them out when we had the heat treatment to get rid of the bedbugs. I know I had Stop Making Sense. It's probably in that stack.

Good evening.

Work was better as they didn't hammer us with admissions after we discharged 10 patients. Three admissions if you count the one at shift change.

My car keys disappeared into thin are.  I looked high and low in the car, in my stuff, on my unit.  Called the lost and found they are are gone.

I had the app for Uber unused on my phone and updated it and used that.  They arrived in a few minutes so it was nice.  Unfortunately that was my spare and now I have no key.  Will have to go to the dealership tomorrow.  Will see if best friend can take me, otherwise it's Uber again.

I really get on my own nerves.  This is the 2nd time my keys disappeared at work.  Years ago this happened, never to see them again.

I still haven't yet found my key ring with house keys and all the store 'discount' tags that were hanging on it ..... None of the stores I've gone to has them in their lost and found. Maybe I will find them on the floor under a piece of furniture or in a jacket pocket, or maybe I won't ever find them. But at least my car keys (hubby's copy and my copy) are kept separately from the other keys, thank goodness. Hubby was always warning of the price for getting another key made....something like $200+ ? I dunno. But if you need one, you need one, I DO know that! My house keys may turn up after I pass and someone is cleaning out my stuff. But, anyway, at least there are house keys WELL-hidden outside.

BiL just came over and mowed the grass with the riding mower hubby said needed repairs; he fixed it, used it, and now our grass is neat and tidy....for the next little while. Leaves are finally emerging out from the buds on the tall trees. The next few days will be in upper 70's and low 80's. Today, at least, the winds are keeping the heat from sunshine from feeling punishing.

Nannie is napping, or, well, she is sewing something in her sleep, anyway. I will go upstairs and wash the dishes I keep saying I am going to wash. I usually get to them every second or third day. It's only a sink full of dishes, not enough for a MACHINE dish-washer load.

Tomorrow we get up earlier to be a SiL's at noon, for the Easter BBQ she got from a restaurant yesterday. No ham, no lamb, no yams. It doesn't matter.

"Gadfrey P. Sakes and his Left-Handed Brother!" (a nice, non-offensive cussing expression from an old POGO comic)... It will be time for supper in an hour or so. Time flies when you're wasting it. 😜

That post I just wrote was posta be on Saturday'S thread.  My attention span is SHORT!
