G'day.
Joe, hope you day goes well.
Ado, I hope you feel better.
We're in our dry season and having lovely weather but some rain would be welcome.
I guess I'm tired from working 3 12's in a row and having to get up for a 7:30 staff meeting for an hour. But I was so fatigued I had to lie down for a bit and still feel drugged. Getting too old for overtime I guess. LOL
Off today and washing sheets and putzing about. Will go to the gym soon. I After the staff meeting I treated myself to a vegan breakfast burrito that was really good. I haven't been eating well these past four days and need to do better. But that's always what I seem to say.
We had a good time at the game last night. For the opening ceremonies they brought out some of the retired players that were all-stars and hall of famers--Dan Wilson, Edgar Martinez, and Ken Griffey Jr. They had all stars from other pro Seattle Teams throw out the first pitches. That included Marshawn Lynch, who is a big fan favorite in Seattle. And the team won on a home run! It got pretty cold, down to 45. We stopped to grab something to eat at a Dennys-not much else was open at 10 pm, and then home by midnight. I slept like a rock. I still a little sore, and puffy, but I know this will pass. We are going to have lunch with dd, and then I plan to take another nap. Other than last night, I just haven't slept well this week.
Gosh, I look forward to have a 60 degree weather. I have been trying to eat better, but I get lazy and rationalize. We are going to a vegan restaurant for lunch, so that's a good step. I know I feel better with less processed stuff and more whole foods.
Ado, a day at the zoo sounds nice. We like to go to the one in Seattle. The flamingos and otters are my favorites.
Overcast and cool. bleh.
Predicted to be cloudy and around 61 degrees, but sun is trying to come out. And we have had very light raindrops spattering here and there. Fed the birds, fed the Nannie-person. Hubby said he didn't sleep well last night, but he dozed a lot yesterday, and I guess he wants a med to knock him out. He is 'going to the store' to buy some Afrin nasal-spray. Guess the Vicks Stick either didn't work or he has misplaced it before he got to try it, who knows. And I do suspect "nasal-spray" might be 'code' for vodka.
Half an hour after she ate her yogurt, Nannie closed her eyes, soon to go to sleep, I'll bet. When hubby comes back from the store, and Nannie is truly asleep, I plan to go upstairs and piddle around (yes, Tweety, that is the same as putzing; ? I love Yiddish.) in my room.
One of these days I'm going to go and buy me a reasonably sized vacuum cleaner. This entire house needs to be vacuumed; hubby still hasn't vac'd upstairs like he said he would last week. He loses his breath pretty easily, so I don't expect him to get energetic enough to tolerate heavy activity. (Besides which, *I* vac better than he does!)
Before I lose my "gumpties" I better head up to my room. My very first serious boyfriend used the word "gumpties", as in good energy, get-go.
More later youse guyz~
Nope, no putzing or piddling.....Hubby has once again lost his (new) cell phone AGAIN. Long search in house, in cars, and he drove to where he was this morning; no luck finding it even with people helping by calling his phone # in hopes of hearing it ring. Can't lock it on-line because of factors eliminating using the 'FIND MY app', am going to try doing a chat with one of their reps on-line and maybe they can do it for us, to prevent someone from finding it and using it, and/or trying to do Identity Theft.
What fun this day has turned out to be!
Fastest Update Ever: WHEW!
Hubby found his phone between the passenger seat and the console....this was the 4th time he searched the Ford. It didn't ring because it was on "silent". Bright! (And I ain't talkin' about the sunshine!) This is, he said, the third time he's lost it, so he has to figure out something to do so it doesn't happen again. I suggested one of those velcro things you can stick on a dashboard and the back of the phone, but put the velcro on his skin, instead. Or we could sew it into a skin flap pocket on his belly. I am always full of ideas......good or bad, you can count on me to resolve a problem. Well SOME problems, anyway! ??
I have lost my phone in the car several times and searched several times before finding it, so I can relate. I was at work and didn't have my phone and wasn't sure if I brought it and lost it or left it home. I've been known to leave it in bathrooms at work. I checked T-Mobile's "find my phone" and saw that it was indeed at work and it has a function to call your phone and it will ring even if on silence (and it was) and I heard it ringing behind me. It was underneath my lunch. WTH? LOL
My most infamous "lost my phone story" is I left in a bathroom in the Tokyo Airport and took a bus to another part of the airport for my flight and had to go back after it. A maintenance worker was just wrapping it up to turn it in and gave it to me. Ugh.......
Wow, scary lost-my-phone stories!! Good to know about that t-Mobile feature, Tweety, thanks!
We ended up staying home and practicing with just dh and I. Fiddler went overtime on a tax appointment, and bassist had to meet family at 3:30 for an outing (family is in town from back east, so they are taking advantage of proximity and getting together). If we'd left here when fiddler was available (after tax appointment), we'd have arrived at the high desert when bassist had to leave to meet family! So, again, dh and I practiced and tweaked the list a little. We'd have preferred to practice with the whole band, but a lot of these songs we've done many times, and we are, after all, a "jam" band, so we are used to doing things on the fly!
Tomorrow we will meet with fiddler at 1pm and drive up to the venue in the high desert, to arrive by 3pm. Set up our little sound system, warm up a little with the instruments. We will play from 5:30-5:55, while the museum peeps are eating. Then, they also asked if we would play on three sing-alongs a little farther along in the program (which ends by 7).
Sunday we will meet at the venue (church fellowship hall) at 9, and ppl will start arriving at 10. I don't know what time they serve the brunch, but I believe we will play during the eating. :) And they have a sound system, which is a relief!
Later!
Good morning! It's rainy, supposed to be warming up to somewhere in the 70's. I am up in my room, hubby is out in the Ford, and Nannie hasn't been gotten up yet.
When I woke up, it was about 10:45 AM, and I sat on the side of the bed having a cup of coffee, instead of crawling back under the covers. I have been sitting here looking at the room, trying to get the gumpties to start in on a little bit of shelf emptying and rearranging shelves. I may do part of it, anyway.
Maybe I'll start in on my own room and change hubby's sheets later. That'd probably be better, lest I get distracted doing something else which is NOT taking care of my room. Tsk, tsk....too many days of already NOT taking care of my room ....which is actually taking care of ME!
Let me begin~
Will come by later on. Everyone have a DECENT day!

Stars I hope he realizes his doctor cannot help him without accurate information
Ado zoo sounds nice
Dianah lentil soup is one of my regular recipes
Thought work would be bad, with 2 new cases, but it turned out OK, got it all done. Had virtual counseling during lunch
Went for a walk after work then to the local pub for the meetup. It was a combined meetup with another group but hardly anyone from our group turned up. The other group was a bit insular but after a while I got talking to some of them. Headed home before it got too late
Hoping no new cases today at work, and nothing out of the ordinary. Will do laundry after work, might exercise too
Going to be a stormy day, and unusually warm, up to the 60s. Will have to keep an eye on any potential severe weather watches
