A major dream that I had at retirement was to go through my 150+ journals that I had kept for over 45 years. I left many pages blank at the time I was using them for making entries, and at the time, didn't understand why I did this.
I believe it was because my Temporal Ancestor wanted his Temporal Progeny to be able to do what I am doing now: Gain a new perspective and inspire some art.
I recently filled my first drawing journal purchased in November 1977. I am now working on a journal started in November 1989:
This journal chronicles my first divorce, the last semester of the RN program, my job as an LPN in the CareUnit, my relationship with two women up to the time immediately before I took my State Boards in the Summer of 1990.
? Let's do the time warp again! ?
Morning. It's cold and drizzly. I was going to ride my bike, but changed my mind when I saw sleet was forecast. So I suppose, I will pick up the house and vacuum. Exciting stuff. I got a new Hello Fresh box yesterday, and made a lemon-y pasta with chicken dish. Not too bad. So far I like them, but the main vegetables seem to be carrots and potatoes. Which are fine, but not every time. Dh is going to dinner with eldest ds, so I am on my own tonight. Maybe I'll have popcorn, LOL. Or oatmeal. I'm learning to like blueberries, so I throw a few frozen ones in the oatmeal just as it finishes cooking.
Ado, good news on your hubby's procedure. I've had recurring polyps, so I need to go every 5 years. My dh is due too, but he has a broken tooth and is going to get that fixed first.
I've decided to do the cardiac testing for Angus. I would like to avoid seeing him suffer the way our old dog Millie did with congestive heart failure. I also hate seeing him gorked on Trazodone for vet visits. He barely moved all day yesterday and most of the evening. He got up once to drink some water and went outside once. He's a little perkier today, but still sort of groggy.
Cheers.
Good evening.
Joe hope your workday went well.
Davey, I have some journals from the 80's and sporadically keep one now. It's funny the ones today have weight and blood pressure readings in them. There was one entry from 1984 "the depth of my despair increases". How dramatic but I was going through some major stress, unemployed and depressed. I've come a long way.
J22, glad to hear you're getting the workup. It would be good to get a baseline to follow up in the future and maybe do some preventative treatments.
Ado, glad the husband's colonoscopy went well. I think my doc is going to make me do one at the ten year mark in a couple of years, but if that one's clean that will be my last one.
I've always had chill dogs. Being Floridian we have a lot of storms in our rainy season and are the lightening capital of the US and all my dogs are fine. Caesar would sometimes bark at a loud thunderclap. My two I have now, cooperate with going to the vet and don't move when the doorbell rings.
Today was super busy. Starting with 6:1 ratios. I received a nice complement from a patient towards at the end of the shift which made my day. Another patient that really loved me this week gave me a Starbucks card today that he niece bought for me. I told her I couldn't take it but she insisted. I said I would use it to buy something for the staff. It's always nice to get validation which isn't always there.
Hope everyone has a good evening.

Hi Davey
NJ22 I heard that same report on NPR, hope I don't experience too many delays
Hi Stars
Tweety glad work wasn't too bad
Ado glad your dh's procedure went fine
Was a quieter day at work, which was good. My landline phone went out, had to spend some time on the phone but they were able to fix it. Don't really use it much anymore, but like to have a phone number I can give out without worrying about spam calls
Rest of the day was fairly quiet, vacuumed and exercised.
Since J and I will be seeing a musical this Sunday, and one we've been looking forward to (Evita) we're not going out to eat tonight. J doesn't want to do anything that might affect his stomach before the performance.
Snowed a bit last night, will be in the 20s today and tomorrow. Will warm up quite a bit by Sunday and should be warm the rest of the week
