NJ22 glad that the first speaker at least was good

Ado glad the bad weather held off

Tweety that has to be frustrating.  I've had similar issues with our insurance adjusters

Stars good that she agreed to the new hairstyle

Work was pretty good yesterday, despite the hour long meeting.  And despite having to stay a little late to make sure everything got done.  Thankfully was able to move the online counseling to adapt to the meeting time

After work did some more cleaning and exercised.  Things look pretty good right now, only a bit of spot cleaning here and there needed

Get to leave 3 hours early today, part of a monthly recognition program.  Will  use the time to bake and do laundry to leave time for volunteering tomorrow

Will be in the lower 30s today with rain and snow.  Will be colder tomorrow, will have to be sure to dress warm

Good morning!

Joe, how cool to get extra time off on a Friday.  Enjoy!

Off today.  Nothing happening.  I found in a bag in my spare room where I keep my dogs extra cans of dog food the olive oil I was looking for a couple of weeks ago.

Going to take some time and clear my head and work on my inner self and my inner depression.

Afternoon to one and all~

It is gloomy, in the low 60's, but the rain is predicted at 7% chance, so I don't know how much that'll be! It is predicted to be raining at 5 and 6 PM. Then, no rain for the next 11 days. Huh. We'll see.

Fed the birds. My red-bellied woodpecker and his wife are scooping food up like nobody's business! Wonder if they've got babies somewhere? The chickadees are industriously pecking away at sunflower seeds, and two of the squirrels are out there, too. I don't know why it is so much fun for me to watch them eat, but you know how a 'cook' likes it when the guests are so enthusiastic!

Oh dear, it is St Patrick's Day and I have not one bit of green on me anywhere. Oh well. Not like anyone will bonk me on the head with a knuckle for NOT wearing green.

Joe, I am glad to hear you got some "time off for good behavior!" ? Though three hours is good, you should've rec'd a whole, entire day off (a PAID one!).

Tweety, If I could do anything to help alleviate your depression, I'd do it. I have dealt with depression for so many years, well before this whole episode of living at Nannie's house... My meds do help, but I think a 'change in venue', would now be the very thing to help ease our blues here, without having to actually move elsewhere.

Prolly will be back here later to check in on all of you other folks----

Joe, that's a nice way to be recognized. I might suggest it to our admin since they're starting a new recognition program. Skip the t-shirt, give me time off! ?

Tweety, glad the olive oil turned up. Sounds like something I would do.

Stars, a change in venue does help with one's outlook, even though everything is still waiting back "home".

It is sunny (bright!) and though the temp says 47 it feels quite cold. I went to my favorite little Mexican restaurant at lunch only to find it closed. I hope she isn't closing permanently; it's a new business. Her food is really good. Anyway, I went instead to the taco truck across the street from the old hospital. Ordered 2 tacos then noticed they had elote so I got some of that. I will probably be way over the calorie budget today.

Talked to my college friend last night about plans for visiting Arizona. She and her husband don't just "wing it" like Hubs and I tend to do. Hubs was worried that I was planning all our time and wouldn't leave him time to roam. I think he's comfortable after discussing it, though.

Got a message on facebook messenger today from someone I didn't know. I opened it because it seemed possible it could be someone with concerns about stepson. It wasn't, but it was a person who had bought a stained glass box shaped like a dragon (I'm not explaining that right). It was signed on the back by someone with my first and last name. He was in W. Lafayette, IN. I told him I knew of 2 other people by that name and which one I thought it most likely was. She was married to Hubs' cousin and she passed away a few years ago. Also explained that I'm sure the glass was made in Kokomo at Kokomo Opalescent Glass. They make art glass much the way they've made it for the last 100+ years. They offer factory tours and it's fun to see. He said he would take his daughter (who he bought the dragon for) to see the factory. Kokomo Opalescent Glass has receipts showing they sold to Louis Tiffany years ago. And many, many churches with art glass windows have glass from Kokomo.

I wore my lucky socks! Probably won't do any traditional foods, though.

I just remembered I have some St. Paddy's Day socks! I'll slip them on later. I just got back from a run at the park. My plan is to work in the yard, but I've having a bite to eat first, I just nuked a croissant from Costco and made a cup of coffee. Got to stay fueled up! The sheets are in the washer. I was going to have lunch with dd but she's not feeling great. Her allergies are acting up, and when they really get going, she gets hives from head to toe. The sun was out this morning, but clouds have moved in, high 50s is forecast. The daffodils are finally starting to open. Just the little bitty ones today, but the bigguns should be open by tomorrow.

Congrats on getting some time off Joe.

That glass box is lovely. I'll have to ask my sis about Kokomo glass. She does stained glass work.

Aww, Tweety, I hope you can find some relief. I lose and find things all the time. I think I try to keep too many things in my head all at the same time.

Ado, Beautiful pics!

Speaking of socks, my sister sent me some for Christmas, I may have mentioned them already: they say "DON'T PUSH ME!" with a little human figure with its arms straight out, pushing somebody. I don't wear them, because I like them so much I don't want to wear them to shreds.

j22- head-to-toe hives? I got hives a lot from junior high through high school, from Ascorbic Acid, and Vitamin C. My lip would swell, my tongue would swell, I'd get hives on the palms of my hands, and one time I had hives that looked like knee socks. NO FUN!

Our daffodils have come and gone. Rain is now supposed to be overnight, then a half-week of early AM freezing temps and then by next Friday, "they" say it will get up to 78 degrees. EEK! UGH!

Almost time to put Nannie to bed. Hooray.

Head-to-toe hives sounds most unpleasant. I get hives sometimes. The first notable time was after taking penicillin when I was a kid. Sometime when I exercise, especially in cool air like a walk on a cool day, my legs will itch and get welts. Anxiety will have them coming out on my face/neck. And sometimes the pressure from my socks will cause hives on my feet/ankles.

Yeah, Ado, I also would get hives on my hands while waiting for the school-bus in really cold weather....weird! But, knock-on-wood, I haven't had hives for YEARS.
