Stars I'm glad he wasn't  hurt in the fall.  It's possible that his issues with the glucometer are just him using it incorrectly

NJ22 it does take time to adjust after losing a pet.  Good that you're advocating for your  sister

Ado glad they made it to Kokomo without much difficulty

Work was difficult for most of yesterday, quite a few emails and documents and the person I was helping to cover got a new case.  But by the end of the day it was all done. hoping today will be a bit easier.  Having counseling during lunch complicates Thursday because I have no option of working through lunch

After work I was productive, did laundry and went to the bank and library and grocery store, and got my car washed in preparation for leaving Sunday

Did not sleep that well last night, not sure why.  Think I was feeling unusually warm for some reason

Today should be quieter after work.  Might stop at the vintage arcade again for a bit, then might do a little more packing.

Will be another fairly warm day today in the mid 80s

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a better day.

Didn't have much to say the past couple of days.  Garden variety days.

I treated myself to a couple of music CDs on my wishlist, a desk top shredder, a cookbook stand and a kitchen scale.  I'm going to try to stay committed to cooking a new vegan recipe weekly and use my extensive cookbook collection more.  Really in some respect this is irresponsible spending but on the other hand, I'm single and work like a dog and should enjoy the "fruits of my labor" as we used to say in the old days.  As mom says "you only live once".  LOL

BP was a good for me 123/82 this AM but 140/81 last night and 135/90 yesterday morning.

Hope everyone reading has a good day.

Good Afternoon~

Eighty degrees, partly sunny, partly cloudy, with a chance of rain and/or a thunderstorm. When I went outside on the porch to have coffee, it was sooooo still --- the calm before the storm? We'll find out as the day progresses.

Got Nannie up and she said, "I am so glad to have you here to help me with this." ?Imagine that!

We won the ballgame last night, I think it was 5-1. Tonight's game, barring bad weather, will be at 6:40 PM.

Hubby did another 'shopping center' trip; at least he has quit asking me to go to the ABC store to get him his vodka. I had told him he has to keep track of his own addictions, that I really don't like supplying him with booze. Just now he has come in and is resting in his recliner. I think this is the start of the Siesta Time......but FIRST: "Uh-Oh, my tank is empty." So mommy-nurse had to go get another one, open it, and set it on three. He can't remember which way to turn the valve or the setting; sometimes he will crank it up to 15 without realizing it, when he's trying to shut it down for the night. Oh well. That's why I'm here. ? Yay, Stars! ?

There will be one of Nannie's prescriptions at the pharmacy this afternoon. I don't want to go all the way over to Walmart for it today, but then again, tomorrow is Saturday, and who wants to be at Walmart on the weekend? IF I can make myself get over there EARLY, I may end up doing that.

All for now. I have to go get my hearing aids. Whenever hubby is slurring his words with his Southern accent, and I ask him to repeat what he said....he gripes to me that I should use those "thousand dollar hearing aids" that "HE" bought for me. (We split the $3,000 to $1500 on each of our credit cards.) He doesn't get it that when he's been drinking he doesn't always speak too clearly. And, sometimes my ears are still in "Yankee Mode". Here's another "Oh well."----

Oh heck yeah, I would not be purchasing alcohol for him. Good for you, NoStars. If HE bought your hearing aids, then YOU buy his booze.

Joe, that does seem like a hectic day. I am guessing you can't use your sick time for your counseling appointments? At my last job, they were very generous about what we could sick time for. Yay, union.

It took me a long time to buy things just because I wanted them and not be caused I needed them. So I splurge on pedicures and massages.

I rode my bike early in the morning, then went to sis's house because she thought OT was coming today. It turns out it was a nurse from a different home care agency. I came in after her and didn't hear her intro. I caught on when she said "therapy wants to do an intake tomorrow" and I said they did that differently. Turns out the hospital sent referrals to 3 different agencies. So that nurse left, and I spent an hour wiping up dust and cat hair. I don't think sis even noticed how dusty her house had gotten. Now I'm home with grandsons, having lunch.

Cheers.

As my mother would have said to you, j22, "You're a GOOD KID!" Any time you would like to be a 'dust inspector and cleaner-upper' in our house, feel free to just come on over, across the country, and visit, with your feather duster! It might be easier on you than at your sisters, because we don't have any cat or dog hair! (Just *my* hair!)

Glad you said something about a mani-pedi tx......I DID go out to the pharmacy today, but I didn't get to go to 'my guy' to get my finger-nails done. Then I remembered he works Weds/Fri/Sat. So, tomorrow if I can get up early-ish I may go there, maybe. maybe.

Watching the ball game, the Braves against the Cincy-Reds, who seem to be a fairly good team. It's in the middle of the 4th inning, and the score is 5-4, our favor, so far. But I won't get smug during this game, because they have some fine players on the Cincinnati team. (Rats! Phooey!)

Hubs was just saying that the Reds were doing well. Until I went to the Yankees/Red Sox game last year in Bahston, the only Major League game I'd been to was a Reds game in Cincinnati, years ago. But an Okie has to like Johnny Bench and the Reds, right?
