Hello all!
I slept in, dunno why, for I fell asleep at a "decent" hour, and only woke up once, then went right back to sleep. Meh. I did two loads of laundry yesterday (even used the sickly dryer, for it dried the clothes in spite of the knocking noise. Luckily it is in the garage and I don't have to listen to the knocking!). I even folded them! Did some exercises. Read.
Joe, I just looked up what to see/do in Milwaukee, and there is a TON of things to do/see there! Some are ghost-related (not my cuppa), but others look really fun and interesting. As with most big cities, it will take more than a weekend to see it all. Lots of brewing and brewing-related sights, a zoo, at least one art museum, a river walk. You should have no problem with tourist mode! Hope your Friday goes smoothly, and you have a good weekend!
Ado, that IS scary, about your car rolling away! Glad there was no collision!
Have a good day!
The other day I gave a woman a ride from the doc's office to her house several miles away. She had had someone drop her off at the office for her appt, and then, after her ride drove away, she found out she didn't have an appt that day after all. I didn't mind doing a good deed. She asked for my phone # so she could pay me some gas $$ and for the 2 L bottle of "Sundrop" soda I bought for her. Last night...after I had turned off my phone for the night, she had called and left me two messages ( at 10:45 PM! And she was hard to understand), She was asking if I could give her rides here and there for this and that, today, and said I didn't have to call her back, but just come by her house (around whatever time of day she specified.) In the morning I tried to call her back six times but she never answered the phone. Of course I never went by her house 'cause it really isn't near me or where I had to go today.
I'm sorry for her circumstances, but I just happened to be over at the doc's office for my own appt. that day, and was on my way out the door when she caught me to ask me for a ride.
I already have a full time 'job' here with Nannie and hubby and the house. Plus, today I was overloaded with errands of my own, way across town from the town she lives in, and no way could I have fit her scheduled needs with MINE. I mean, she was asking me to drive her around to several places, one place at 11 AM, one place at 1 PM.....so, yuh, right! That ain't happenin' chick! I will have to tell her that I am 'working' FULL TIME and am not available to take her places. Hubby said "There's always UBER...." but she had said in her message that she only had $3 but she would give it to me for gas. Uber would cost, and I guess she thought I wouldn't charge her. Well, I won't charge her, 'cause I ain't a'takin' her all over creation. It's sad, and I guess she is desperate, but I am not volunteering to be her savior. Sorry/not sorry.
No new news about anything having to do w/ detox/rehab, and that personal banker has yet to call me back (and I didn't even want her to drive me anywhere!) So I guess she is an IMPERSONAL banker. Harumph! But we still have to get Nannie's credit card taken care of. If the bank lady didn't want to call me to tell me they don't take care of credit card problems at the bank and That I should call the card companies #, she could have at least called me back to let me know. I know the bank doesn't do the credit card companies business, but THEY were the ones to suggest I take Nannie to the branch bank and have it taken care of there, face-to-face. Keeee-RIPES! Nothing is easy anymore. Ppfftt!
G'day.
J22, enjoy your day. I Google "creperies near me" and got "Bacon B**tch"
Stars, that was nice, but yep you gotta nip that in the bud and just block her number.
Dianah, sometimes our bodies just catch up like that. I actually love when I sleep in because it's rare.
Work was a mess. Started out as a free charge and after report administration thought it better to pull a nurse to the other unit to take an ER admission and gave me two patients and made the nurses on my side take 6:1. It went down hill from there. A night shift RN was a no-call no show the other day and wouldn't answer calls, so we had trouble replacing her. Thought we would have to move patients from one unit to the next and I would stay late waiting on a 7:30 pm (usually late) ambulance for one of my patients. As it was they pulled a nurse from rehab that initially was floating somewhere else and the other unit had unexpected discharges and we didn't have to move patients. One of my coworkers texted the no show RN on her personal phone and she confirmed to her coworker friend that she quit and that "we should have figured it out". We did, but a grown up would have at least called back and told us. How professional is that?
I did stress eating because we had chocolate from a couple of patients and stopped by Taco Bell for dinner. It was good but I felt like a blob.
Off the weekend. No overtime coming up.

Dianah I have't been to Milwaukee in probably 20 years. I've mostly stopped going to conventions
NJ22 glad you made it to your destination
Toomuchbaloney hope the smoke stays away
Stars it's a shame that none of his family will help
Tweety hope your next shift is better
Ado that is kind of scary, the car rolling away like that
Was a pretty good day at work yesterday, looks like things have settled down
Rest of the day was fairly quiet. Went to the grocery store for stuff for the church coffee hour, exercised, and talked with dad. His car was finally fixed on Wed.
Nothing really planned after work today, going to email my cousin again about a possible trip to Milwaukee, have been working on possible dates and things to see while we're there
Will be a hot day in the mid 90s with storms expected that should cool things off
