Dianah I've found vinegar helpful with ants

Stars good for you for sticking to your guns and focusing on rehab first

Ado that's odd that the microchip and the vet's assessment of the age differ so much

NJ22 it's going to start getting very cold here too

Tweety glad the dog is better

Work was quite slow yesterday, quietest day this week.

Which was good because shortly after I got done with everything my modem died.  After finally getting through to a person at AT&T they're sending me a new modem, will arrive today

Last night tried my phone as a mobile Hotspot and got my work computer partially functional.  We'll try that today and see if I can get work done.  If not my coworkers will have to take over for me today

Apart from that excitement was an ordinary day, did some cleaning and some exercise

Little more snow today, will be in the mid 30s

Ugh, Joe, technology is so frustrating when it doesn't work or when something needs to be updated/changed!  Hope that modem exchange takes care of the issue.

Hello all!

Here, the ant wars continue.  This too shall pass.  It was REALLY windy yesterday, but that seems to have settled down.  Should be 68 degrees later.  Rain is predicted Sunday and Monday.

The eagles up at Big Bear Lake, whose nest has been monitored for a few years by a webcam, have two new eggs in that nest!  They had two last year, but only one hatched.  Hopefully both will hatch this year.  It is interesting to watch the chicks hatch and grow, and get taught eagle things by the parents!  Parents are named Jackie and Shadow. ?

Have a good day!

Last night I flipped and flopped, disgusted that I could not fall asleep. Around 4:30 AM I got up and took a 0.5 mg Xanax and conked out.....and didn't wake up until 1 PM.

Fed Nannie and I had some coffee. Then I thought I ought to go outside and check on hubby. He was sound asleep in the front seat of the Ford (small empty bottles on the seat beside him).

It is COLD outside! Well, it isn't 33 degrees cold, but 47 with a NW wind makes it cold. Not a cloud in the sky and no chance of rain until....next week, but only 5% chance on Monday (?).

Ooops....something I rested one of my fingers on put me in "incognito" and I don't know how to un-do that! Guess I better search through the settings and see what I can see.

Hubby came in from the Ford; he is already answering Nannie with a loud, irritable tone. I used my hand to indicate he needs to bring it down. What got him going was he and I had a brief convo when he mentioned what time it is and I said not to talk about going out to get supper because we are having Lasagne....at which point Nannie says: "Who are y'all talking about?"

When you talk TO her she doesn't hear, but if someone says something to the other one, it's "What did he say?" I so often want to say "Nothing!" or "Nothing that concerns YOU,"  or "He was talking to ME." But if you talk TO her, it takes a minute or two and several repetitions of what you said before she realizes SHE is being addressed. She has been losing gray-matter more and more lately, but not enough to make her zoned out like a lot of dementia patients eventually get.

I am feeling pretty worn out right now, and not interested in doing more activity today toward accomplishing the rehab entry . Mostly because it's just ME doing stuff, and it is now 4 PM. I believe I will write out the checklist from online, so I can see and HUBBY CAN SEE what else needs to be taken care of, so he can GO!  I want it to be ASAP, so I will continue to push, but not until tomorrow; I want him to go to rehab, but for ME not go whacka-whacka trying to get it done.

Being a grown-up can be so over-rated, and "adulting" is quite TEDIOUS!

Agree, No Stars, adulting is vastly over-rated (but necessary).  To adapt a saying: It's a dirty job but SOMEONE has to do it!

Ants are diminishing.  I did wipe counters down a couple times with vinegar.  I think they like the brand I use, for they were back within hours. ?  I sprayed just a little (the eco-safe brand) ant repellent at their entry point, one of the windows.

Not much else going on, except laundry cogitating.

Hubby and Nannie are being very verbally cross with each other and I want to scream "STOP IT! STOP IT! SHUT UP! STOP IT!" But it wouldn't accomplish anything but get hubby aiming his ire at me to say, "You stay out of it!"

 AAAARRRRGGGHHHH!

I can't even believe I am in this position! (paraphrased song:) Hubby to the left of me, Nannie to the right; here I am "Stuck in the middle of them..."

I had to get my addict fumigated once because of the ant problem.  It's been good ever since, knock on wood.

Joe, glad you had a good day.

Had a busy day but now off for my four-day weekend.  I was in charge again.

Ordered take out Chinese and it's good but not a good habit to get into.

Have a great evening.

Hi. Went to lunch with dd today. We went to an italian place and I had a pasta with a pomodoro sauce. We are planning a retirement party for dh and myself for the end of March. We talked about a venue, maybe a theme, food to serve. Cardiology office called to say something is not quite right with my pacer, I have to go in on Monday to check the settings. I stopped at work to drop off a form for HR, and they are still struggling with the electronic record.

No ants here, at least this time of year. Still cool and damp. Will be cold and clear tomorrow, I hope the wind doesn't blow.

I've seen videos of Jackie and Shadow on facebook! They seem like attentive parents.

Stars, a check list sounds like a good idea, makes things seem more concrete, not just sometime soon. Bickering between a drunk and a demented person, I do not envy you.
