Good morning!
Off today. Had scrambled eggs with Canadian bacon and potatoes for breakfast instead of the usual oatmeal and raw green smoothie. I love the standard American breakfast but it's unhealthy. We'll see if it makes a difference. But like I said before I follow up with GI I need to follow his instructions. I can't in good faith say I'm still having issues if I didn't follow his plan.
Since I can't work out, I went for a walk yesterday and it was nice and I took my jacket off because with the bright sun and no breeze it was warm. Should maybe get up to 70 today and hopefully I'll feel motivated to walk.
It's "wash the sheets day" and that's getting done,
One of my goals this year is to get together a packet for my sister and best friend should something happen to me, they know my two account #'s, where my retirement funds are, my mortgage information and keys and passwords, etc. Best friend just had his sister visit and had some concerns about her cognitive decline so he's asking me to take care of things should something happen to him. I guess I'm at the age where I have to think about this since I'm single no kids.
My BP was a really good 114/72 this morning which is hypotensive for me. Lately though I have been getting good readings despite all the stress and worry I put myself through.
Have a great day.
My NYE massage was soothing. I had chosen one focused on TMJ because (a) it was less expensive and (b) my tension and soreness and limited range of motion are mainly in my jaw, neck, and shoulders. Of course she now wants to schedule more thorough sessions. I don't think that's in the budget.
We watched Wake Up, Dead Man (Knives Out #3) and it was good. At first I thought it was laying on the social relevance a bit thick but it all came together well.
I should get some of those lottery tickets. LOL. I read about someone near here who won $500 on a scratch-off ticket, took it to the convenience store where he was told they couldn't cash it but the cashier scanned it and gave him a paper to take the lottery commission. Unfortunately, the paper said the prize had been claimed. He was able to get his payment, and the convenience store chain says it was "human error" not an attempt to steal his winnings.
So, here it is, Friday again, with another long weekend yawning like a sinkhole right in front of me. I have the usual laundry and dishes to take care of while Nannie is at daycare. Then I have to go pick her up between 4:40 and 5 PM. I sure hope she is NOT in a tizzy when I get her back. It is bad enough sometimes even when she is in a 'good' mood. I kind of miss the days of 8 or 12 hour shifts; this "Lifetime Shift" is inhumane.
Ho hum. I keep forgetting that it's Friday. It seems like Monday, I suppose because of the holiday. It started out sunny and nice, but the gloomy clouds have moved in. I took the dogs on a nice long walk, and someone asked me if I had Rhonda's dogs. Um, they're mine, but she seemed skeptical. Weird. I created an ad on Facebook Marketplace to try to get rid of my ski rack hardware. I frankly don't care if I get any money for them, I just think it's a waste to go in a landfill. Dh has been pretty good about getting rid of stuff, so I should do my part.
I also need to put some more books in the "little library" down the street. I see some of the other books I've donated are gone, so I stick a few more in.
MiL gave us scratch tickets for Christmas. I did not win, but youngest son got $5.
I put down a deposit on a cruise to Alaska, leaving May 26. This will bring my total number of states that I have visited to 28. Eldest ds has been to all 50, in large part because of a previous job he had.
I keep thinking about rounding up stuff in case of being incapacitated or gone. dh would be completely lost about what to do, or even how to find an account number. And I've thought about squirreling away some cash. But the thinking never gets put into action. And we need a will. Ugh. My dad thought he had everything done that way, and the lawyer really screwed things up. It makes it hard to trust.
I was getting massages, but I've let that go for a while. Same with facials and pedis. Maybe that is part of the wintertime blahs.
I liked Da 5 Bloods, but it was long.
A cold, quiet evening. Nannie is sitting in her recliner folding, refolding, and rearranging and counting a stack of PAPER TOWEL sections. She seems to be unable to make all the edges match up evenly, so it must be done over and over again. At least she is quiet and I am not required to "Look!" or to "See?" Oh gosh, she just put them all down on the chair-side table...... but within 60 seconds she just HAD TO pick them up and start all over again. Aaaaand once again the edges are not even, so she put half the stack down and here we go: fold, fold, fold.
There are 1 + 1/2 hours until she's going to be changed into pj's for bed.
And then..... the weekend. *sigh* The only thing I know of that might happen is SiL will come over and take down the Christmas decorations. Big whoop, huh?

Tweety I hope the diet can help settle the intestinal issues, hopefully it's just a temporary exacerbation related to the surgery
NJ22 I think my cousin and her daughter do the Polar Bear plunge
Stars that seems like a good strategy
Yesterday was fairly quiet. Did manage to get outside for a bit, with plenty of layers. Took a while to get going, had to scrape ice off the windows (and some on the inside as well) and a windshield wiper came loose so had to fix that. Did some baking when I got back, along with the dishes, worked on the shopping list for next week, exercised, and watched the movie Da 5 Bloods. Pretty good, although like a lot of more recent movies it dragged on too long
Today back to work, coworker who was off will be back (thankfully) though another coworker who just joined our team will be off. Thankfully I checked before I left work and there was little to do for her. Not much else planned for today except exercise. If work proves slow I'll work on a CEU
Going to be in the mid 20s today, no snow expected
