Good morning.
Joe, glad the colonoscopy went well and hope the polyp is a benign type. Diverticulosis seems to be a very common finding.
Ado, hope the conference goes well. I love watching sunsets. Got to see a couple in Costa Rica on the Pacific Ocean. A first for me.
I didn't sleep so hot but didn't have long periods of insomnia, kept waking up several times. I took my Klonopin/Trazodone combo for two weeks to help me during traveling because I have a history of being sleep deprived and anxious while traveling. I've only taken Trazodone for the last three nights.
The Insight Timer app is free and there's tons of free stuff especially good meditation music which is how I like to meditate, but the subscription gives you access to courses and a few other perks. It's pretty similar to the apps "Headspace" and "Calm" from what I can tell. I've mostly used it free for a few years, but one year I got a subscription when they first started the subscription and it was half off. I emailed customer service and got an instant answer and fix to my problem and was happy about that. I started a course "21 Days of Morning Motivation & Inspiration" which will probably take me about 90 days to do.
My guide in Costa Rica on a river tour in the rainforest was really good at pointing out the different types of birds. I'm not much of a birder myself but it was interesting.
Not much going on today. It's wash the sheets day and I still have some vacation laundry to do. Weather is cloudy in the mid to upper 70's. It's so humid I can't see out of my dining room windows. It's been nice not having to have heat or air conditioning since I've been back, although it almost went on when it hit about 80 yesterday.
Have a great day.
Left a phone message for hubby to call me when he can. He called back about ten minutes later, said he was sleeping. Said he thought he MIGHT get to come home tomorrow, but he wasn't sure. I asked him if the doc had said something to him about esophageal varices and he said "Yeah, something like that." I said, "Maybe you could have the doctor call me...." He said okay, but I don't know if he will remember later. I don't even know what room he is in. If I don't hear from him or doc in a while, I will call and asked to be transferred to the nurse's station and ask the nurse to have the doctor call me, or have hubby tell them it's okay to talk to me and tell me stuff.
Right now I have to go get Nannie up, and do the dishes I ignored last night.
Cool and gray today, with a few sprinkles of rain. I’m one of the few people in the office. The health officers are encouraging indoor masks, and the facebook fanatics are having a grand ol’ time commenting on that.
NoStars, that seems weird that no one called with an update. I hope you hear something soon.
You seem to have gotten good results, Joe. My GI Dr. Tried to tell me I had to come back in 3 yrs because of a family hx of colon cancer. Apparently the nurse who took my history decided my mom’s smoking related laryngeal cancer = colon cancer. Uh, no. My dh got the prep with the small amount too.
I hope Annie’s 3 hour tour ended on time, LOL.
Just called hubby; he sounded peevish, of course, and I asked him how he was feeling and he said, "Okay, I guess. I just want to come home." I told him I looked up esoph.var. and he said "yeah". He said he didn't know anything more since he talked with me this morning, but he'd let me know if he found out anything (I think he was referring to what he told me about "possibly coming home tomorrow", rather than any dx or tx) Anyway, I told him to tell the doctor to call me and he said okay. He didn't seem to feel like talking, I guess. Must be the lack of Vodka.
I don't imagine the doc will call me until the AM, after he/she does rounds. I really don't think he needs to come home tomorrow
Hopefully Mr. Stars will have some medical reason to keep him and detox him good because certainly Mr. Stars will minimize any symptoms to report and say he's ready to come home. Otherwise, the banding I don't think is a major procedure that would be a reason to keep him.
I went to get my dog some eye drops and it was $52 for a 10 ml bottle. He's also on two other drops. But I don't mind. He's my baby and I'll pay it. I have an appointment with the doggie ophthalmologist in January for his three month checkup. My dog is totally blind and the drops are a comfort measure. We might just decide on a procedure that would stop the glaucoma but atrophy and blind the eye. His other eye is already atrophied from glaucoma. Since he's blind already we may go that route. I don't see treating the glaucoma anymore when he's already blind.
If hubby calls me tomorrow and says they are going to discharge him, I'm going to call his PCP STAT and see what he can do about shuttling hubby to in-patient rehab, like, pronto!
Blessings on your blind baby, Tweety. I have been thinking that when we decide to get a dog, I'd kind of like a couple of 'senior' PALS who need to be homed together. Prolly hubby wouldn't like that idea, he'd like a puppy. Although the other day he said that instead of a dog, we should get two cats, one for him and one for me. I would be willing to take a couple of old PALS that would do better being together. But, we can't get any cats until Nannie passes away, and I definitely don't feel like taking on the care of a puppy, because you KNOW hubby wouldn't be able to.
Ah me, and so it goes.
Congrats on getting through the 'scope, Joe! And on getting good news!
nursej22, hope it continues quiet at work.
Tweety, sounds reasonable, to stop treating a blind eye for glaucoma. Kinda like closing the barn door after the horse has escaped, eh? So nice to hear of you caring so well for your fur babies. ?
Stars, I too hope they don't discharge Mr. Stars before he is READY, and that he goes straight to rehab! Hope your gypsies remain at bay, and that Nannie is cooperative.
Just got in from band practice. Going to bed soon, for we will be up at 0600 in the morning, and on the road by 8:45-ish. Doing music at the Sabbath School in the mountains, at a private home. It's always enjoyable to be up there, and always a joy to do music.
Have a good evening!

Tweety that sounds like an interesting app
Dianah glad you slept better
Stars I hope you can get clarification about that procedure
NJ22 that sounds like a nice day
Ado glad you got to do something fun during the convention
The colonoscopy went smoothly. Got to the office early and was taken in on time. Got my first IV and first sedation, which went smoothly. I remember telling the CRNA that the propofol made me feel a bit flushed as it was infusing, then I was dreaming I was reading at home, then I awoke in the recovery room. I felt slightly dizzy but otherwise was awake. Dad showed up on time and drove me home
They only found 1 tiny polyp and a bit of diverticulosis. They'll let me know if I need to return in 5 or 10 years depending upon what type of polyp it was.
The rest of the day was fairly quiet. They recommended not driving the rest of the day, but by the afternoon I felt well enough to drive to the grocery store. Baked some cookies. Ordered a chicken sandwich from a well known local restaurant, was terribly overcooked, disappointing
Texted with J, told him I'd call and let him know the colonoscopy details. He texted that he'd tell me the details then from his urologist appointment, they want to do some procedure that requires sedation. Called him but had to leave a message. I wonder what procedure they're doing...can't imagine it's a prostate biopsy, they don't sedate for that
Funny, feels kind of empty now that the colonoscopy is past, it was source of stress for so months, not sure how to feel now that it's past
Work today may be busy, I believe someone is off today. Hope I don't have too many faxes as emails
Wintery mix expected today, think it will be in the upper 30s
