Got up at 9 AM (!) and spent time going through checking accts, balancing, etc. Paid a couple of bills. It is now 11 AM and I am about to head out to the bank and to the Pharmacy.
Then when I come back, I have to re-do the application for hubby's birth certificate as they sent the one *I* sent, back to me with my voided check, and sent me another application w/ everything I am supposed to fill out with highlighting pen. EGADS!
And then, home chores, and phone calls that will probably yield no results, as usual. FIE!
OK, gotta go----
It rained overnight and will rain off and on today. But today is the day I arranged to take a little time off to do the shopping/shipping/decorating. The boys agreed to go with me. Hubs was going to take Gma back to the doctor as her eye is just not improving.
We do pay the Gma-sitter out of Gma's money. (Hubs is the guardian and he does have to occasionally report stuff -- I try to stay out of it because he would just turn it over to me if I let him).
Tweety, I hear you about the people who come in for chest pain when their money runs out. I figure it's not my role to figure out who's deserving and who isn't. Fortunately, in a small town like this we don't have a LOT of those cases. The "big hospital" did. Of course, there were more resources in the city, too. This guy had pneumonia and had slept by an open fire prior to his admission. I feel good that we got him a coat.
I need a haircut pretty badly but my stylist just took her dad home on hospice care, so... I wait until she's ready.
I have thought about recording Gma when she is going on and on. It goes something like this:
"5 men and 5 women and they all went to California forever. They went to California forever. They went to California forever. And the women took care of the children forever. And then we all went to New York forever. And I have a bad eye forever. They're killing us. They're killing us forever. "
and it goes on forever. Her poor brain.
They got referred to the eye doctor. Hubs is grumpy because he felt like he was being judged by the NP. And he asked Twin A to feed the cats while he did the doctor runs but Twin A "has to get ready for his final" but is apparently preparing for his final by playing video games. And I might just spend my afternoon by myself rather than try to deal with any of them. But I'll go feed the cats first.
Can someone explain to me how I can leave a private message when I see nowhere on any page how to do so. I used to be able to. And I can't reply to a private message, because all there is at the bottom of the message is the word "Quote" which, when I click on it, makes nothing happen, so I feel kind of stuck. Thanks in advance~
Have to go hunting through papers again, as suddenly Wells Fargo is feeling 'guilty' (?) about having put me in some payment program which I requested to verbally and in writing, to more than six to eight people at WF to NOT put me on, because I had already made two months payment. (There was also a witness at some office I went to that helps people through financial binds, and she also told them I did not need to go on that payment program.) But naturally, Wells Fargo ignored me and put me in that program anyway. EVERY time I called them about it, although I was supposed to have a dedicated customer service person, I was shuffled to a different customer service person, AND several different departments. That was in either 2016 or 2017, and one of the reasons we decided to sell our house and move down here. So, NOW they are addressing it? HAH! What are they going to say...."I'm sorry." ?? I don't think they owe me any money, but I will be MORE than willing to tell them how WF *** up repeatedly. Like, as in. blatantly LIED TO ME. I will never deal with them for any financial reasons, ever, because they were a bunch of crooks.
Fortunately I took extensive notes about the whole rigamarole, because I was SO mad at them. And the papers are upstairs in a box, so I have to go a'hunting. At the same time I will be on the look-out for a copy of Nannie's will which I believe is SOME-WHERE in this house. I also have to drop by the lawyers office next week to get him to tell hubby's MasterCard people that he died without an estate, and therefore they will not have any payments coming from him! (or me, because it was only in his name.) He used to have a whole bunch of camera equipment, once upon a time, but I think he either gave it all away or went to a pawn shop with it.
londonflo, There is a Senior Center just about 5 miles from here. Every time I drive past it, I think to myself, "I've got to stop in there..." Anyway, I believe things will start happening after this L-O-N-G delay in the processes of assistance for me and $$$ for me. I figure the # of hours I actually spend WITH Nannie is about 12/day. I am in the house, but up in my room, after she goes to bed, and SO FAR she doesn't need anyone on night duty for her. And I do go out and do 98% of the errands....
SiL comes next Tuesday to give me a few hours off. I may just stay up in my room going through things and getting ready to move my bedroom to the bigger bedroom. Who knows. But, it is 4 days away, so I don't actually REALLY know what I will be doing with my time that day! I ain't got enough dough to go on any buying sprees, but maybe SOON, I will!
Anyway, thanks to all for your concerns, advice, and especially the prayers.
Thanks, Rose, for the info re: PM's. I guess that me having Ad Blocker is the reason I can't send PM's or answer them. But I am so addicted to NOT having annoying ads, etc., flashing all over my screen all the time, I'm not sure I can give it up!
Nannie, one hour ago: Wrestling with her shawl, then trying to pull the underpad out from under her. While still sleeping, she said, perfectly clearly: "Oh, well, there's no reason to wonder if he did it or not. He did it. He was always the kind who would just do what he wanted to do, anyway." Then, 1/2 an hour ago she suddenly woke up and said to me, "Somebody's at the front door!" I told her nope, there was no knocking, and no doorbell ringing, so it was all in her dream. She said "Okay. Thanks." and went right back to sleep.
No one here to converse with, that's why y'all get long posts and so many posts from me in one day.....
Even though I grouse a lot, I have to say that most of the time, I am totally convinced that things will work out well for me, in the long run. And even so-called 'bad' experiences can turn out to be for the good at some point down the road. I trust in God and Jesus completely. Which doesn't mean I don't help myself at all, I'm not just sitting here waiting for a miracle. But I've gone through plenty of "bad" times, and yet landed on my feet, in a much better place [ie frame of mind, and also circumstances.]
ds's eye is slightly better, but the infection seems to be spreading to the other eye, so we are putting drops in both. I also picked up sudafed, tylenol and alleve for him so he wouldn't have to touch our supply. I actually bought a couple of gifts today, and then helped at the food bank for a couple of hours. In the morning we are going to see a community garden that grows stuff for the food bank. Dh and I may volunteer there in the Spring. Going out shortly to grab a burger for dinner.
Weather is mild, around 50, supposed to continue for a few days.
I have sort of given up on my hair. I keep it long enough to pull it back with an elastic, sometimes at the nape of my neck, sometimes straight back and stick it through my running hat, sometimes on top of my head for sleep. I can't stand to have it touch my face.

Dianah glad the repairs are at least partly done
Stars I can understand your reluctance to bring in home care
Ado that was good you were able to get clothes for him
NJ22 hope your son recovers soon
Tweety that was a great idea, glad they recognized you
Another pretty good day at work yesterday. Even had time to get some continuing education done. Hopefully today will be the same, although we do have someone off
Had counseling over lunch, then ran errands after work, then got my hair cut, which I should probably have done a week ago at least. My camera arrived, got a memory card for it and figured out the basic features
Not really anything scheduled for after work today, which is a nice change from the pat few days
Will get up to the low 50s today, unusually warm for this time of year. Supposed to rain all day tomorrow
