Stars that's good that Nannie remains a bit independent

Hi Dianah

Ado that's too bad, that you're on call for  NYE

NJ22 that sounds like a good idea for a tattoo

Tweet that's understandable, given how many bike thefts you've had,  to avoid them

Work was busier than expected yesterday but not too crazy busy.  Mostly because of some calls and some faxes.  Hoping today will be quieter

After work was fairly quiet, exercised and watched Star Trek, and distracted myself with stuff on the Internet.  Probably should have done some knitting or something else more productive

Texted with J about our Christmases, little annoyed that his was so brief and didn't really provide much detail, unlike mine.  Oh well, guess we're still trying to adjust to communication as friends rather than boyfriends.  We're actually in touch a lot more than my long time friend in VA, who I typically only email every few months

Should be a quiet night today after work, will be nearly 50 again today, and will  remain warm for a while

Tee-hee-hee! Little Ms Independent fooled me! Last night when I helped her get undressed for bed, I discovered that she had not put on her pull-ups and pads....she was wearing a PANTY-GIRDLE that was approx 2 sizes too small, but she had gotten it pulled up anyway, and had worn it all day. EVERYTHING was wet since it wasn't exactly absorbent. Good grief!

Hubby had an "issue" with his condenser, and apparently didn't think I was smart enough to 'fix it'. He wanted to call the 02 supplier's company to get it straightened out. DUH! I told him it wasn't necessary to call them at 8 PM, and when I was trying to explain a few things to him, he wouldn't shut up. I said, "Fine. Even though I have been a nurse for over 40 years and have worked with condensers MANY times, I don't know anything." He insisted I hook the 50 ft of green tubing back on because he could breathe better that way. He sits right beside the condenser, so a short 6 ft tubing was really all he needed. He told me to quit being such a smart-azz. HUH! Anyway, I took out the filters and washed and dried them, and after that he said, "Whatever you did makes it feel better." Much later he apologized for what he said to me, I told him that it wasn't what he said, it was that he wouldn't even credit me with knowing a few things about the $#&*&^ condenser, and would not even trying listen to my explanation before talking over me and shutting me down. Ppfftt.

So it goes. I'm not sure he is drinking QUITE as much, but it is hard to tell when he is sleeping, like he is doing now. Nannie is sleeping too.

I wasn't going to go out today, but my back-yard birds are cleaning up what was there....and now that the bigger birds are also coming in, I want to buy some more of their kind of foods, too. (fruit and nuts).

I am washing all of Nannie's 2 days of wet clothes. Then I am going to launder the old blood-stains from hubby's disastrous falls in my room last week. He leaned on the bottom of the bed when he finally had gotten up, when his left arm's skin was shredded. My down blanket is ivory colored so the blood shows up so well!

Today is gray and cool, but not as cool as it has been. As soon as the laundry is ready to be shifted to the dryer and the next wash-load gets started, then I am going to the store. What a duddy life.

It is dh’s 67th birthday today. I offered to take him out for a late lunch, after the football game he is watching is over. Another gray day, mid 40s intermittent rain. There were some some sun breaks this morning and there was a double rainbow arched across the sky.
I got my self some new head phones to wear while jogging/cycling using a Christmas gift certificate. They transmit sound by bone conduction, so I won’t have anything jammed into my ear.
Annie, I hope you don’t get called in. I used to hate being on call.

Good evening!

Happy Birthday Mr. J22

I have to use the hold fashioned kinds of headphones that look like ear muffs. Otherwise the small ones fall out.  The good news is the modern ones block out all sound and the music sounds great and it's wireless connected via bluetooth to music on my phone.

I worked the floor today and was gladly not in charge.  Selfish coworker annoyed me by telling the manager she didn't want to do charge any more and wanted to be a preceptor only.  That's because when she precepts she gets to let them take all the patients and she doesn't have much stress.  Today she was playing games on her phone.   I had hinted to her the other day I was going to tell the manager to take me off charge duty.  She beat me to it on purpose.  I've been charge nurse for nearly 25 years now so I guess I'll stay in charge since I won't do that to my manager right after.  But being in charge in a pain.  I can bide my time until I retire I guess.

Happy Birthday Mr. j22!  Nice meal out sounds good.  (sounds like us.  Not usually card-givers, cake-bakers, etc.  Just a meal out.  ? )  I looked up bone conduction earphones.  I have some wireless ones I use for watching TV.  I don't like having all that on my ears.  And, sometimes I use the elliptical while watching TV, and that's a little uncomfortable.  I looked on Amazon for alternatives.  Looks like what I have is probably all that is available for what I need.  BUT, I also looked up earpieces to use with my phone.  I ordered one, and it will be a nice alternative to holding the phone to my ear (my hands cramp after awhile) or using the speaker (don't like that all the time).

No Stars, hope you found what you needed during your trip to the store.  At least you get out sometimes (yah, I know: just for errands!).  Wonder what tomorrow will bring?  Hope you sleep well, and the gypsies leave you alone.

Tweety, when is your projected retirement?  That was low of your co-worker, to undermine you.  You said, though, that she was lazy...  Can you still request not to do charge any more?  You have certainly pulled more than your weight for many years.  And it would be your boss's responsibility to find someone to fill the position, yes?  (but you are so conscientious, you would likely fill in, at least)  Have your temperatures returned to their Winter normal?

I cooked a puttanesca sauce with kalamata olives, grape tomatoes, olive oil, crushed red peppers, and capers, and we had some for lunch over whole wheat linguine.  It was very good!  I also baked some brussels sprouts I had marinated overnight, in lemon juice, olive oil, and garlic salt.  They were good too!  I really like the puttanesca sauce, may make it again.  May add some artichoke hearts too.

I walked my 30 min on the track, kept telling myself how good it was for me!  LOL!  It was cloudy out, and 58 degrees.  It should begin raining later tonight, continuing through most of tomorrow.  Lighter rainfall forecast for Sunday and Monday.  Yay, us!

Have a good evening!
