Good morning. I was too tired to post last night, after taking sis to Seattle for Dr. visit and CT scan. We stopped to eat, even though it meant getting home an hour later. But it still hot (90) so we took advantage of the air conditioning. I had a delicious avocado salad, she had Caesar.
I found out my vitamin D levels are low, so maybe that is the cause of some achy-ness and feeling tired. Not just my age. Tweety, I think my doctor might have tried the ol' "at your age" thing on me once. I do however welcome any senior discount available, LOL. As I predicted, when dh went to Costco without me yesterday, he brought home a ton of food. At least he seems to have put most of it away, and not just loaded up the counter tops with it.
The weather is starting to cool. The temp sank below 60 in the night, and should only reach 75 today. Ah. There was talk of some rain moving up from hurricanes in Mexico in a few days. I feel like I supposed to do something today, but I can't think of what it might be and there's nothing on my calendar. I been mulling over buying sis a Google watch so she would have it for a fall alert...
Hi Kurt. Hope to see you join us. Our numbers have dwindled over the years.
It's probably been 10 or more years since I had my Vit D level checked and they were normal then, probably because I got out in the sun being in Florida. But I do now take a supplement because deficiency if so common and I know longer run outside. Probably better for skin cancer risk that way.
Dianah, thinking of you with the coming storm your way. Hope it's not too bothersome to you. I know you guys aren't used to these things like us.
I washed the sheets and went to the gym and grocery store. Not a total slug but going to slug the rest of the day. I have enough food prepped to not have to cook.
Good Afternoon~
I have put out the deer corn mid-afternoon, so that 'early bird' doe won't come halfway up to the house and stare at me through the glass door. ! I also have made some more hummingbird food, but have to wait for it to cool down before I can fill the feeder and put it back out.
I was trying to think of what I did earlier, and for a moment I was stumped! Then I remembered....OH! I cut my hair and took a shower! I didn't feel like waiting for a day when the hairdresser works (usually Weds, Thurs, and Fri.) Didn't do as good a job as I used to, and got it a bit shorter than I wanted, but I have a lot of hair and it grows quickly. And after a day or two, the hair gets used to its cut and settles down. Right now it is looking ? shocked ? and choppy. It'll get over itself after I sleep on it.
We have 94 degrees, sun, and humidity of about 57.5% (That 1/2 a degree was my idea.) It is supposed to be dry for the next five days and the temp is supposed to go higher, like up to 98 degrees. Whoopee.
The ballgame starts around 7:20 PM, the Braves are playing San Francisco. This time my brain started singing, "San Francisco, open your golden gate..." I remember that from the movie (1936) about the 1906 earthquake starring Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, and Jeanette MacDonald. Imagine this: I didn't even think about "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" by Tony Bennett. Shame on me!
Hubby went out to the 'shopping ctr" (ABC store) and when he came back he said he was 'swimmy-headed.' Oh well, no guessing from what...Hahahaha! No Tweety, I'm only expecting hubby to join me in the effort to locate a place for Nannie. I will put down a list of calls he can make while I am also making calls. It'll be a short list as there aren't many locally, so it ought not to be an ordeal for him (...unless...). Anyway, we'll see what we see.....
Hey, all! I'm glad to see the end of this week, though I still have things to finish up before Monday.
I tried reading Anna Karenina and didn't get far. Afraid that I'm too easily distracted by shiny things like games on my phone to read long and demanding things.
My luggage arrived yesterday with the maple syrup, Summer sausage, and cheese that were part of gift baskets we got at the meeting.
This mom of a 28-year-old man accompanied him to our ER yesterday evening. He has complained off/on about hemorrhoids and has had quite a bit of bleeding lately. I got tired of hearing about it (he ignores my advice about fiber, stool softeners, and topical treatments). I tried to keep my mouth shut but he lets the doctor lead him and doesn't give an accurate picture of how long it's been going on, how uncomfortable it is, or how much it has been bleeding. It's like my son is having a period. He needs to see a surgeon, apparently. His blood pressure on arrival was 164/111. I'm sure he was stressed and hurting, but still. He takes a daily metoprolol; I don't know how much. Down to 157/91 before we left.

Tweety that does sound like a tough shift
Stars I hope his irritation motivates him to start looking seriously at nursing homes
TMB glad the rain is helping the fires
Fairly quiet day at work yesterday. Got a new case at the end of the day but left it for today
Rest of the day was quiet as well, got some laundry done and exercised
Today might be a bit busier at work, with the new case and a brief meeting. Hope things aren't too bad
This evening should be quiet, will try a new blueberry muffin recipe, as I want to get into baking again. Also will watch a DVD I got of The Hobbit, the animated one from the 70s which I prefer to the Peter Jackson one
Won't be too warm today, upper 70s, no rain expected
