Good morning.
Joe, hope you get a good raise to cover expenses. Renters here are having a huge issue with big increases.
Homeowners here like myself are dealing not with rent but with big insurance increases. It's hard to get ahead.
Went to a charge nurse meeting today. Mostly not entirely happy with some of the changes but said my two cents worth.
Before leaving I changed the sheets. My big Friday chore. LOL
Hav e a great day!
Noontime; I've been up for an hour. Momo is squealing 'yipes-yipes-yipes' when I pick her up. Don't know why. May try to get her in to see the vet after I get Nannie up.
Haven't heard a word from SiL, so I guess she isn't coming to get Nannie today.....not that I expected she would. She may have mentioned it to Nannie or the Chatty CG, but she hasn't mentioned it to me. So, oh well.
Going to get up and get going with the day, such as it is.....
Bonjour. I think that is how you say good morning in French. It's overcast here, again, but I think the sun will peek out later. Yesterday was quite nice. I went grocery shopping with ds. He is meeting with a nutritionist, and has some new recipes he wants to try. I saw my cousin at the grocery store. I haven't seen him in about 5 years. He has had cancer 3 times and a CABG. That is sobering, considering we are the same age. Anyway, he and his wife looked really good, and happy. He and another cousin from the other side of the family are pretty much all that is left of my relatives (other than my sisters). As I've noted before, we are not a long-lived family.
I did a good cleaning of the kitchen when we got home, sat down to eat lunch, and fell asleep. whoops. I did go by the tire dealership to get my tires rotated, but all the bays were full and I didn't feel like waiting. Ever since I got my new tires, the air pressure check light has been on, and nothing has changed. Hmm. Oh, well, for years we drove around without that and somehow survived. On my other car, the sensor went out and it would have been $300 per wheel to fix. Nope!
I am going to set off shortly on a bike ride, and then will mow the back yard. I booked a hotel room in September. dd and I are going to see Pink in concert in Tacoma. We were supposed to see her last year, but she had to reschedule due to COVID. And, argh, I still haven't seriously looked into a Europe trip. I want to do schedule it while dh is present, and then it slips my mind.
Our home owners insurance went up substantially. It looks like our house value went way up, but housing around here is stupid high anyway. I think the slow increase of the financial markets is keeping up with the price of insurance.
Welp, I talked to the girl at the vet's office; she said there aren't any appointments open for today, but when the docs come back from lunch, she will see if they can squeeze Momo in for a look. She said it might be 2:30 before I hear back from them. I've got my fingers crossed. I may have to bring Nannie with me, if she doesn't conk out. She has not napped for the past three afternoons; her doc's appt is next week.
Right now she is calling my attention to "something out in the back yard.".....Turns out the flowers that got the kibosh from the heavy rain last week (and the 'sunburn' from the hot-hot-hot unrelenting sun the week before) one single bud is starting to bloom out. Imagine that.
For Momo----Neck and mid-back pain. No x-rays, just a thorough physical exam. Gabapentin 2x day, and Prednisone 2x day (both liquids) Vet said it won't take the pain completely away, but it should start to improve SOME, and if it isn't any better in a week, let him know, and if it isn't better in a month, or 6 months, he said she may need a 'specialist'. I doubt that we'll be going the 'specialist' route, so I hope she gets to feeling better! He said it's a s-l-o-w process. I am supposed to try to keep her back as straight as possible when I lift her, and don't allow her to get up or down from the sofa or bed on her own. Also I am to carry her up and down the stairs. (Now I've got 2 patients again.)
SiL called and is coming over around 5 PM to give Nannie a shower and get her dressed, then they are all going out to eat fish. But not me. Like I said, I politely declined because I don't like the fish where they are going. But having to keep an eye on Momo is a good excuse. SiL also said she will take Nannie 'all day'....ie, or 5-6 hrs on Wednesday because she knows I haven't had a break in a while. (No sh**!)
I just now dosed Moesy-Momo w/ 1 ml of the "Gabby"-stuff and 1/2 ml of Prednisone. She may get sleepy now. Oh, and I am also supposed to cut the one small can of Beneful at breakfast to 3/4's of a can, to help her shed a couple of pounds, because she can't be spayed until she is at 5 lbs. But any plans for surgery to spay her will be on the table for a good while.
Okay , for the next hour I will be (re-re-and re) reminding the Nannie-person what I have already told her 6 times (so far) about what she is going to do. (SIT! WAIT!) Her info retention, short-term memory is very poor and getting worse every week. Not to mention her sense of hearing. OY.
Stars, at least your new patient doesn't weigh very much! (you know, since you have to carry her up and down stairs and all)
I took Turbo cat to the vet this afternoon. She was overdue for some vaccines anyway, and I noticed a couple of nights ago that she was squinting one eye. She did have some redness in the sclera, but the cornea is fine. So now I get to put ointment in the cat's eye for a few days. She weighed 6.2 lbs which is more than last visit. She seems so tiny when I pick her up. She's a pretty petite little cat but she did at one time weigh about 10 lbs (she was overweight then).
Big boy Sam has an appointment for next Friday since he also needs to get caught up with some vaccines.
J22, a Pink concert sounds like fun.
I had 10 first cousins (well, until the discovery of the 11th a couple years ago), and only one of them has died. We range in age from a couple months younger than me (61) to 91 (my dad's sister was 16 years older than my dad). It was the 91-yr-old's younger brother who passed away a few years ago. One of the cousins lives pretty close by but the others are scattered around Missouri, Texas, Ohio, and I don't know where else. I marginally keep in touch with the Texas and Missouri crowds. The kids, grandkids, and great-grands of the deceased cousin live just a few miles away but I never see them. Hubs and I feel pretty isolated sometimes. I guess we are to blame as much as anyone.

Stars glad you got the appointment for her next week, and that there proved to be nothing seriously wrong with the car
Work was fine yesterday despite being off and having a coworker out. I think today should be fine too unless something unexpected happens
Got the letter that it´s time to renew my lease, another big increase although the landlord again extended it for 2 years instead of 1, which helps. Will be discussing my raise at work next week, most of that will go to covering this increase.
Nothing else unusual yesterday, ran an errand and exercised
Only lost a little weight this week after losing a lot the previous week. Probably to be expected but will see if I can make some adjustments
Tonight will be meeting my friend Mark from the gay group for dinner and an outdoor concert. Want to hear about his 2 months in Brazil
Going to be fairly warm here, in the upper 80s, might get some more rain
