Fresno State Fall 2016

Published

Anyone else applied for fall 16 at Fresno State? It is the school that makes the most sense for me since I have family in the area I can stay with. I also wouldn't be too many hours away from where I live now so I can go home semi-regularly. Plus it helps that I grew up there so I know the area well. I am really really hoping I get in but I am so incredibly anxious and worried I won't :( Does anyone know if they use +/- in the gpa calculations? I know some schools like csueb don't. Fresno State's site doesn't really seem to give much info! Do they really not take into account your TEAS score at all either? They only cared if you passed? I had a pretty good score so I was hoping that would give me a better chance too. It seems like I've learned from reading other posts that we won't be notified about admissions for months and months? I was hoping that since the app is done through nursingcas that it wouldn't take as long as some other schools but that doesn't seem to be the case. I'd love to hear from anyone else that applied too! :)

Congrats!!! :D can i ask what your prereq gpa was?

Thank you so much!!! :) I am not exactly sure what my prereq GPA was... It was either a 3.71 or a 3.72.

I must be really close to you then! Mine was 3.71 if they took into account + and - in the grades (or 3.76 if they didn't). That gives me tons and tons of hope now! :D

Wow! Yes, you must be incredibly close then. The people from the alternate list must submit their acceptance by the 27th, so hopefully you hear back by next Monday. Good luck to you, and stay positive!❤

Oh I was so excited and hopeful! Then I emailed and asked what number on the waitlist I am... #21! I wonder how that is even possible when we had about the same prereq gpa :/

Wow, I'm so sorry. :( I have no idea how they choose what students are accepted... I really hope that you are #21 including all of us alternates who are were already accepted, that way you may still have a chance; that would make a lot more sense to me. When ---------------- called me on Monday, he told me that this was an incredibly competitive cohort!

They go strictly off prereq gpa which makes it so weird that we'd be so far apart! But hey I guess there could be that many people with the same gpa. Or like you said that number might include those who have been accepted! I'm not counting on it anymore but I'm still hopeful things could go my way :) just back to the fun waiting game!

Good luck, rayrayb. I hope to see you in the fall!😀

Hey, I was accepted from the alternate list and turned in the signed acceptance letter on May 24th. I have yet to receive any additional information as well. I believe they may be waiting to finalize the cohort, but I'm not too sure. If anyone has any additional information please let us know! :)

I got in and i called them, cause i havent recieved additional information. They said they would send an orientation packet before august 1st. And there is also an orientation sometime in august.

Hey everyone!

Does anyone know if it's easier to get into the nursing program during the Spring semester. I would think that Spring semester would be less competitive given the fact they only accept Fresno State students. I was on the waitlist and did not get in when I applied for the Fall semester. If anyone knows anything please let me know! I'm hoping my chances are greater when applying for the Spring!

Thank you in advance!

Also, congrats to everyone who got into the nursing program this semester! :)

Hello I am a student at Fresno City College doing my prerequisites for the nursing program at Fresno State and the website says that if you apply for fall then your prerequisites must be completed by the previous fall. I will be finished with all my pre-requisites in Spring 2018, so will I be able to apply for the nursing program for Fall 2018 or do I have to wait until Fall 2019 to apply?
