hello people!
i am a bsn student currently studying here in the philipppines. i am looking for a school where i could transfer this coming second semester. as i browsed the web searching for prospect schools, i happened to see this website of st. ignatius: http://www.stignatiuscollege.com/index.htm
i am curious about their program, and i quote - from their website:
"st. ignatius health science college offers the philippines' pioneer two-year registered nursing (asdn) program specifically intended for those who wish to work in the united states. our curriculum includes a final trimester which qualified students will spend at an affiliated school in the u.s., finishing as u.s. graduates. students will study 20 months in the philippines (5 trimesters of 4 months each) and 4 months at fresno city college in california."
just want to ask anyone from fresno who could confirm if this is real?
thank you!

hi...
I don't know the validity of the school's claim...it might be real...ill look into it. I just heard about this from a friend of mine and is quite interesting. I know your post is from 2006, but regarding transferring here in the US all you need is your official transcript evaluated by companies your school recommends. Some schools have pre reqs such as a&p 1 and 2 and entrance exam. it all depends on which school your interested in going to. Look around the web.
hope this helps a little... "9
I called Fresno City College today and spoke with the Nursing Program Director. I was told that they do not have a direct affiliation with St. Ignatius. She did state that they have an articulation program with St. Ignatius and that they base admissions the same way they base admissions would a regular transfer student.
Basically, what she said was that there's no special treatment given to St. Ignatius students.
I forgot to ask about evaluation of official transcript.
Here's their website:
