Personally for me, still working at Blizzard, which I’m not sure if you guys have seen the news, they were recently sued by the state of California for sexual harassment and unfair practices against women ?. But it’s what will get me by if I get into school and it’s a stable job if I don’t get in/give up.
That’s crazy! I haven’t seen that, but honestly these days with the way the world is, I don’t watch the news much.

You should apply! It’s great for experience, it sucks that the bio stats class you need for National can only be taken there.. except I think the one from Fresno State transfers

It's a tricky situation for me though because I'm a single mom, I'm full time at my job and it pays well. I think this position would be a pay cut for me and I don't have that option right now. I'm fully ready to move in with family when I get in an RN program, but I want to be independent and save until then. My admissions advisor is having me petition to have it transfer, but we'll see what they decide.

That’s my issue too, I’m not a mom but I work full time and am trying to save as much as possible for school. I don’t think it would be smart to do a CNA class or what not and quit my job.

I wish I could get a job for the experience too, but I have a similar problem having 3 kids. the cost of daycare would be more than what id make and I have no one here that would watch them. my husband has a job that doesnt necessarily pay great, but it's totally flexible with my schedule, which is so valuable no matter what program I end up at. Im fortunate that we own a single-wide in a mobile home park so my space rent is super cheap, but I cant wait to get my family out of this side of town. Fresno isn't even that bad, just this part isn't great.

How does your husband feel about you earning more than him in the coming future?

He's actually working hard on getting his contractor's license so he can have his own business. Hes been doing remodels (even in our own home) and hes VERY talented. We're hoping that my income leap will help him get the start he needs. Hes got most of the tools already and almost all of the experience, but its not cheap to get the license and start a business. He'll need a better truck too, and those are wildly expensive these days... so we're both on a career path, growing together through all of this chaos LOL
But to better answer the question of how he FEELS about it, he doesnt care who makes more, hes looking at the big picture of what all of this will bring. This is kind of short-term goals. Hes also the main one who cooks and he splits cleaning chores equally with me, so maybe it's just that our roles are blended too. I want the lake house with a bass boat someday just as much as he does LOL!

That's good! I know in my situation my significant other thinks that when and if I begin making what he makes there will be a power struggle. Right now since he pays the bills he's getting last word but I know when I'm making close to his salary or more, I'll want to throw my weight around a little more.

Im sorry to hear that, that's a tough situation. We tend to make financial decisions together pretty well. In some ways my spouse is more of a "spender" than a "saver" and I'm the opposite, I'm kind of a penny pincher, but we always agree on the important stuff. Sometimes I put together a secret savings that ALWAYS seem to come in handy! We both come from very similar family backgrounds of poverty and struggle, so I think we're both just happy to see a way to climb out of the lower-lower class together.
