Free Cna Training

U.S.A. Florida

So I Finished My Training As A Basic Xray Tech And Finished At The Top Of My Class. I Passed The State Exam In March. I Have Not Seen Any Job Postings Up Here In The Country. I Have Sent Resumes To Anyplace I Could Even Imagine Had An Xray Table But Have Not Even Heard Anything Back. Being A Limited Xray Tech Means That I Cannot Work In A Hospital. And Because The School Wasnt Accredited By The Jrcert Means That Most Other Places Wont Hire Me Either. I Was So Excited (and Still Am ) About A Career In Health Care That Going Back To My Old Job Is Not Even An Option. I Guess I Learned A Ten Thousand Dollar Lesson About Making Sure Your School Has The Proper Accreditation For The Field That You Are Looking Into. Going To A Different Xray School And Learning It All Over Again Is Not Possible Because I Cannot Afford To Move Again.

Now I Am Looking Into Nursing. The Lpn Program At Cfcc Is Open For A January 2008 Start. I Am Trying To Get My Ducks In A Row So That I Can Turn In All My Stuff During Their 90 Day Window That Begins August First. I Was Thinking That If I Got A Job As A Cna First Then Not Only Could I Get My Feet Wet, But I Could Help Save For It As Well. So My Question Is; Does Anyone Know If Nursing Homes Are Still Hiring People And Paying For The Cna Training Course? I Am Mainly Talking About The Ocala Area Or Within A 50 Mile Radius

Hey Pgramann,

Don't know of any FREE classes but I just finished a 9 week course with the Red Cross (night course since I work days at Verizon) and it was just under $500.00. I have my date for the state boards and are planning on a career change after 35 years with utility company. Red Cross is all over so you should look into it and it's a good price :yeah:. Good luck and let us know.

This is my first post so I hope I did right.

check around the different nursing homes if ya wanna go for free. a lot of places will sponsor you if you sign a contract to work for them for 6 months to a year. it will be good for experience and will help you decide if nursing is right for you. that's how i started out. good luck!!!

From what I was told by a few people that were CNA's in my LPN program that if you pay for a CNA program and get a job within 90 days at a LTC facility that by law you have to be reimbursed for it. I'm not to sure how true that is but you could always call the facilities in your area and see how their tuition reimbursement works.

You went to a non accredited school and now require free CNA training?

I can't help what God gave you, but I will call you on it. I live in Florida, like yourself, and will tell you LTC's will pay for CNA training AFTER you pass. Find out first before you get into another non accredited program. Sorry for the bluntness.
