Fountain Valley- New Grad (Versant)

Nurses New Nurse

Published

So I thought I'd start a thread about the Fountain Valley's New Grad Program. I know some people already got called by the nurse recruiter and I heard they're going to interview 150 people for 15 spots. I'm like WOW... Anyone here who got called? And what units are you applying to?

Do you guys know how many they will select for further interview?

I heard that out of the 150 they chose for the first interview, 25 will be chosen for the second panel interview. Then from there 5 nurses.

Oh wow, that's harsh. Has anyone heard anything from them after a first interview?

Has anyone heard back after their screening interview? I thought he said he would be letting people know by Monday...I haven't heard anything yet so just wondering if any one else has...

I got a call yesterday afternoon for a critical care panel interview in mid-February. I originally interviewed for progressive care but I guess they switched me.

They're only hiring 5 new grads? That's disappointing. They opened up the applications a few days ago. I think it's closed now. I wonder if they'll hire more.

Ya be happy you got an interview. I've been applying to that program for about 2 years now... And************* refuses to see me in person or even take an application. I went to Mount St. Mary's, a pretty well known nursing school, I speak 3 languages, fully certified (ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP), with my BSN and can't get ****. They make applying online so much harder... I'm working 2 jobs plus an internship (7days a week). I don't know what more I can DO!!!! Or where I can get an 8th day in the week... :(

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm happy, but the prospect of competing for 5 spots does not make me smile that much. I'm sure to prepare. Do you know if they use paper or computer charting? And if computer, what system? Anything you can tell me about the hospital? Thanks in advance. :)

I don't know anything about their system... I volunteer in Covina. I've been there for almost 7 months now... I've had one interview there and was promised a panel.. But so far nothing...

How come you really want to work for the hospital. Is there something specific that you like about FountainValley you know.

When I was waiting to be called back for my interview, someone came in and asked the receptionist how many they are taking for the program and she said between 10-15. Is there a possibility that when he said they are taking 5 he meant they were taking 5 for ICU, or whichever unit you were interviewing for? B/c that would make more sense since there are 3 units...a few for each...And also on pg 1 of this thread, that cohort had 15 spots out of the 150 they picked for the 1st interview...5 total just seems pointless to even have a Versant program... I am blanking on what I heard in my interview about this, so I could be wrong...just relaying what I heard the receptionist say...

I actually didn't hear anything from him about hiring just 5. Just read it from this forum. That would make complete sense, the 15 spots. Would be so great having the increased chance. I'm planning to call the recruiter tomorrow and ask him a few questions. Will get back with answers.
