Anyone on here planning on applying to the ADN Spring 2017 program at Forsyth Tech? I believe the deadline to apply will be in late September.

I submitted my Info session paper last week and went in today for the MAR review. While I was there, I mentioned that I took a high school chemistry class at a college that I should have put down as a "college attended" and had to leave to supply them with that transcript. :( Sooooo.... now I am online paying for yet another transcript. Uhg! But, I will continue on and go back next week to finish and get my TEAS V test date.

The only class I need to take is the computer 110. Ill have that done before the program starts, I hope. :)

Is Chemistry one of the pre reqs needed?

DirahMartin, Chemistry is not a prerequisite. Only sciences that are needed for the ADN are BIO 168 & BIO 169. If you plan to get your BSN it will likely be required.

JustGonnaGoForIt, why do you need to give them the chemistry class information? Also, take CIS 110 online. It was SO EASY!

Oh okay. I thought so. Yes eventually I plan to get my bsn. I'm thinking of taking chemistry and micro during the summer of when I'm actually in the program.

I am taking Microbiology in the Fall at Forsyth Tech. I just noticed that the online RN-BSN program I plan to attend through Appalachian State University does not require you to have chemistry! That's a relief! They just want you to have Microbiology and Statistics, the latter of which I have already taken.

No Dirahmartin, I needed it for a different college. But because I took the class at a college, I had to turn in the transcript to Forsyth.

Hey RN2B... I was told that class was very difficult and that if I din't have a brand new computer, then I'd have to pay for some new downloads. I thought it sounded like bunk. I'm glad that you let me in on that. I had originally planned on taking it online, but after I heard that news I figured I should reconsider. I'll definitely sign up on line!

Also, like I told dirahmartin, I needed a chemistry for Rowan Community College, it's about an hour south of Forsyth. I have them as a back up plan.

So now I'm studying for the TEAS. I got everything in yesterday and am set to go. I will find out my test date tomorrow. Time to hit the books!! :yes:

JustGonnaGoForIt, Just make sure you have Microsoft Office package on your computer. This includes Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel. The whole class (CIS 110) is devoted to learning how to use those programs.

I officially applied to the program yesterday! Took my MAR Review and am going to use the TEAS scores from the test I took earlier year when I had applied to the LPN program. Now we have to wait until mid-late October to find out if I'm in! BTW, I took a class this summer and they still let me do my MAR Review even though the package says we can't until after August 22nd! Good luck to everyone! I'm so anxious to finally start this program!
