Forensic Nursing within USAF

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about forensic nursing within the Air Force. For someone who is interested, would they have to go through AFOSI to pursue this as a career? Thanks in advance! :)

I don't think the AF has any forensic nurses, if we do I have never heard of/met any.

Here is the list of all the different speciality nurses in the AF. http://www.airforce.com/opportunities/healthcare/careers/nursing/?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=CPC&utm_term=Nursing&utm_campaign=HP?m=HP&pl=google&cr=HP_search

When I was an AF cop we used to take victims to the civilian hospital and the local PD and myself (I used to work with OSI on this kind of stuff; I was the highest ranking female with the exception of one Tech Sgt, and believe me, you'd rather have me in there) would handle the evidence collection. I know here at Wilford Hall they do it on post but they have civvy and AF RNs down in the ED who've been trained in kit collection.

From the (former) cop side, I'm agreeing with wtb.
