I joined the site a couple of hours a ago. It seems. I have been up trying to find info for my sister in law. She just won a green card and landed in august. She is nurse. I want to know if i am directing her in the right path. :uhoh21: i told her about CGFNS.org, im not too sure if she need a visa screen or a cgfns certification or NCLEX or all of them. HELP.

TY

PS.you guys are great, you pour your hearts to help others.

Hi and welcome here,

I think she does not need to start a visascreen process because she got a visa already. You are doing well, she needs to follow the instructions on CGFNS, to get the verification of her credentials, and then take the NCLEX exam, it depends of the Nursing Board of the state she lives. Every state has its own requirements, the majority of them ask for the nclex exam, but others still ask the cgfns, you should check the this page also http://www.ncsbn.org. I hope it helps you. Regards. :)

TY.

1. If she has a green card, she doesn't need to go the route of Visa Screen.

2. If the state has language requirements, as some do, she will still be responsilbe for that.

3. Each state has its own application for licensure, you can be licnesed in all of them, just a few, or only one. NCLEX exam is required for all of them.

4. I would tell her to stay away form the CGFNS exam, and only go for the NCLEX once she has been accepted for licnesure by a state.

5. Follow their requirements as specified. Each state is different.

Hope that this helps................. :balloons:
