Foreign Nursing Graduates reapplicarion to NCLEX-RN

Published

So when i got here in 2011, i tried applying for NCLEX-RN California. Just like some of my fellow nursing graduates in the Philippines, i got denied by CA BON due to concurrency issues. Im now working as an LVN and wondering if i try to reaapply for NCLEX RN, will i ever get the eligibility im waiting for? ive heard some of those who got denied in the past were able to get their eligibility after 2nd attempt of application. Anybody here on same boat? Please share your experiences..

I've heard about that. A few have reapplied after their BRN letter expired and they finally got their eligibility letters. However, I only heard like 2 or 3 people, not a lot. But you can try, why not? You mentioned that you applied last 2011, so your BRN letter must've been expired cuz it's only valid for 3 years. That's also your chance to get another evaluation from the BRN. By doing the reapplication, you may either get another BRN letter saying that you're still deficient or you may have your eligibility letter. If you're still deficient, at least you can find ways to figure out schools that will accept you. And if you're finally eligible, then good for you. I guess it's a win-win situation. What do you think?

I took nclex last 2008 but failed. Then when i got here in Cali, decided to try again but feared of the concurrent issue, but i pursued. 2 years later, i am taking my nclex exam this coming april. BON did not tell me to go back school. You will neever know til you try. Good luck

DId the CA BON required you of your complete record of clinical cases? this is the one thing my school in PI can't provide as they were asking for my rle booklet and cases from the time i graduated which is more than a decade ago. I heard that they can outright deny your application if you cannot submit it to them. How true is this?
