I'm taking the NCLEX in 4 months and I'm quite scared. I haven't decided if Kaplan is worth the money or the review. I need help finding a post graduation review program....Help!

What's weird on this board is the recommendation that everyone wait several months after graduation and study. The teachers at my school all recommended taking your nclex asap after graduation while things were still fresh. Probably half the class at least took it within a few weeks and passed. I don't know anyone who failed, but they probably wouldn't say. Many people, including myself, used the kaplan book. Not classes or online test banks. Just the book and I found it was infinitely helpful. However, I can see why some in other program types might need a lot more study. The BSN programs in our area focus study per quarter. Like community nursing one semester, mental health one semester, peds one semester. They only actually study med/surg one semester and its first year nursing. Our ADN program studies med/surg all two years. We have one quarter that's entirely ob and mental health. and then one quarter we have a section on each of those as well, but the rest of that quarter, along with all else, is med/surg.
So what I'm saying is, yes use Kaplan. I'd say if you just graduated from a program that had med/surg emphasis, I wouldn't bother with the 300$ class

Depends I know people who used are review and some who didn't and both passed
If you need core brush up and not disciplined or work, take Hurst review- best content review
If you are disciplined and have the time you don't need a review, just get 2 good books
I did Kaplan- great strategies. not so much good content review
I'm a good student but work and don't have the time committment to study intensely on my own
I've heard do as much questions as you can
hello, thanks for the advice. My school is very med\surg centered. i will save my money since i havent found any data that says kaplan is the best optinon for brushing up on nclex test taking skills.
