For Moderator Suzanne...question

Published

Hello Moderator Suzanne, I noticed from some of your postings that you are very knowledgeable about the Saunders review cd so I have a question or two for you. I'm studying to take the nclex-pn and I have been using the saunders cd. I would like to know percentage of questions correct would you consider good. I've been doing the quizzes where you get 10 questions and a time and for the most part I'm 8 out of 10 on areas that I quiz alot on and 7 out of 10 on new material, meaning things that are foreign to me. I did a study session today for the first time and got 72 correct out of 100. I also want to add that I've done loads of the saunders questions and hardly any are repeat questions.

Oh yeah I also wanted to mention that I quiz myself on all the four area that cover the pn test plan; safe and effective care environment, health promotion and maintence......

I was hoping to get some pointers from you, thanks a bunch.

I edited the post b/c I was thinking maybe I would get a quicker response from somebody:o

Sorry, but it was my holiday over the past two days and I wasn't around.

As long as you are getting in the 70% or greater range, it sounds like you are doing just fine. Are you also using the rationales that come with each answer?

If not, I would suggest that you review each and every rationale. If you can understand why the selected answer was correct, and why the others were not chosen, then you should not have any problems at all.

Remember that the exam is based on common sense, what you would do in a particular case with the information that you have already learned in school.

Hope that this helps.

Thanks so much for the input! I will continue to do the Saunders. Do you know anything about the online practice test from Learningext.com? I've been doing those but I'm not very fond of it, I've found errors in the rationales and just stuff that doesn't make any sense.
