For all those applying with deadline of Jan 15th

Published

I applied to OHSU and am so scared. My grades are ok and I think my goal statement is great. The only thing I know is that I want to be a nurse and it scares me so much that I may not get in. My husband always tells me not to worry but I just dont want to let myself down. Any words of wisdom from anyone going to OHSU or applying or any information that you know? Anyone not get in the first time? What did you do? Thanks in advance for any comments?:)

I worry about this too. My family depends on me getting through school and becoming a nurse. So anytime I feel like being lazy I just tell myself there is no room for slacking off.

Take one day out of the week for yourself. That was essential for me getting through last semester. Our brains need down time :chuckle

Good luck!

wishing the very best for you, too!

i just applied to two accelerated programs that had a deadline of january 15 - applications to both the general school and the nursing school, goal statements, and one even needed the gre (and it wasn't a master's program - huh!). my grades are good, too, and i think my goal statement was pretty rockin', too, but i think we torture ourselves with the possibility of not getting in. even if the possibility is a tiny one, it still freaks us out, doesn't it? :uhoh3:

i wish i could remember the poster who told me this - it was quite a while ago when i was stressing over another prerequisite - that there is one goal but many, many paths to get there. of course, we want to get into our school of choice - no doubt! but, if for some wild reason it doesn't happen (admissions, finances, whatever), it doesn't signal the end of the road at all. the path may look different, but the end result is the same. knowing this makes the wait a smidge easier for me - i mean, honestly, i'd rather not take any more time (and classes) than absolutely necessary, but if i have to, well, i'll do it!

we'll do it! see you on the nursing floor... :)
