You should be doing approximately 100 questions from the CDs on a daily basis and have at least 3000 under your belt before taking the exam. Everyone of my students passed the first time by following this rule. I prefer Saunders for the review books because of the way that they explain the question to you, and both the correct and incorrect answers.
I really recommend the Kaplan course if you can afford it. ($400)....they have a $$ back guarantee that you will pass the first time
CANT BEAT THAT!
Anyway, that was the ONLY tool I used to study for NCLEX and passed the first time w/75 questions.
Not only does it give you a good content review, but it also shows you "how" to answer the questions by using their strategies.
Good luck doing whatever you choose!
I was a staight A student. After graduation I practiced 100-200 questions every day for three weeks and would routinely get 70-80 on the review tests. That really concerned me, but I passed with 75 questions in about 40 minutes. Since graduation (two years ago) I have heard the same thing from other people.
I didn't take the Kaplan course, but I did sign up for a four day review by my school. I couldn't tolerate the non-stop spewing of facts without drifting off mentally, so I left during the very first break. It just didn't fit how I study and retain knowledge. But that's just me. Good luck!!
I took the Kaplan class, and used the Saunder's question only book. I tried to do 100 questions a day, but honestly didn't! I did 30 questions one day, then 125 the next, then forgot for a few days! LOL, but I passed my 1st time with 75 questions. I was scoring about 70+% on the Kaplan quizes, but thought the NCLEX was much easier than the CD. Good luck!

Your post is funny! This sounds like me. I 'intend' to do 100 questions each day.

Did you take any practice tests before taking the NCLEX? If so, what were you scoring and did you pass the NCLEX? Thanks a lot for your help! Haley
