Hello,
This post goes out to those that have attended, applied, and/or got accepted to Lutheran School of Nursing. Does anybody know what is the acceptance rate of the applicants? I read online it was only about 47%. I don't know if this were to be true or not, but if it were...what's the point of having all these applicants when the school is on a first come first serve basis. Why don't they just close the list once it's already been fulfilled? For those that applied, how long was it until you received your letter from the day you sent in your application? Or if you weren't accepted, did they state the reason why?
Just asking! I've already applied, and a couple of ladies have already been accepted but I haven't gotten a letter about my application status yet. Gosh, I hope I get in
Thanks in advance :)

Did you get accepted? I just registered to all nurses and saw your post. I applied for Spring 2011 but will not hear anything until June

Hello! I have also applied for Spring 2012. It is May 15, 2011. What is the waiting list like? I have been an MA for 10 years and completed over 5,000 hours of National Service and a current Red Cross volunteer. I have worked with low income and homeless populations for years. Will these things give me a good shot?
I'm sure it will help. Did you fill out all of the paperwork? They review apps in June.
Hey NancyPants,
I have completed all the application paperwork/essay/suitability, etc. I am going to drop that off to the office tomorrow. Then start working on getting my transcripts over. I am just so nervous. Even though I feel I'm a strong candidate, there are also tons of other wonderful people out there I'm sure I'm competing with.
So they review all the apps at one time? I'm just curious on there process.
Thanks--I appreciate any help because I work with a lot of nurses who say they have friends who graduated from LSN, but they don't know the process. Am I turning in a good amount of time, even if I have all application info, will they review while waiting for some of my transcripts? etc....
Thanks!

I would try to get the transcripts there ASAP. All I know is Lora said that they review the applications in June. I am taking A&P lab this summer. Already took the lecture. I am in A&P II this Fall. I have no idea how many apps they review.

Hey guys! I'm the original poster (skong86), but I lost my PW, so this is my new username. Anyway, I got my acceptance letter in...May 2011.
My story: I moved from California (going onto my third year on the waitlist) and my mom is remarried and is here in STL. I applied for Lutheran in January of 2010 along with other universities. I took my bio ethics/abnormal psych at Meramec and was having a difficult time transferring into a BSN program. LSN told me it would take longer for me to transfer into also since I'm not already a student and suggested that I take human growth and development with them. So that's what I did this past January and...TADA! I'm in.
That's my suggestion for you guys if you want to expedite the process. Take your pre-reqs through Lutheran. Your foot would already be in the door.

I am a dismissed nursing student in my last semester of nursing school. I wanted to transfer to lsn. Does anyone know if lsn accepts students who were dismissed from a previous nursing program
