this is awesome commuter. are you going for your rn or bsn now?

i am taking a condensed 2 week 'mini-mester' nutrition class at my local community college. i attend class 4 hours every evening, 5 days per week, for a total of 11 days. this class started on may 11 and ends on may 25, so i will have completed a traditional semester class in only 2 weeks.

If you're in New York state you can take the SLN online class

Wish I were in NYC. I love that city, however I am in a different location. Thanks though.

yes, i'm attempting to get accepted into an rn program by next spring. my next major hurdle is going to be college-level math, as my math skills are terrible. :uhoh21:
Specializes in 0 as RN, 3 in ICU and Tele as Tech.

Good Luck to all of you this summer!!! :balloons: I just finished taking Nutrition in the fall and made an "A" :monkeydance:

Specializes in SRNA.

I'm beginning an online Nutrition course next week at Coastline Community College (F&N 170) here in Southern California which runs for eight weeks for $20 per unit.

FYI, in case anyone needs an online course! http://www.coastline.edu/

i am sure you will do well. i am pretty good at math but i don't care for it much, however when i earned my bs degree i took college algebra in the summer because i didn't want to deal with it for an entire semester.

i don't feel so confident about my math skills right now. for instance, i took 4 years of college preparatory algebra in high school without learning anything. my college math placement scores were so low that i have to take several remedial math classes before i will be allowed into college algebra. i feel uneasy, because my current gpa is a 3.8, and i wouldn't want a bad grade in a remedial math class to lower my overall average.

I am taking a pretty intense 3-week Human Nutrition course at Laney College in Oakland. This is our sencond week, the class will be over June 15th. I am so happy to be getting a whole semester's worth of class over in 3 weeks, YAY!

Good luck!

Vicky

Well, now I am all registered for a great class, payed the bargain tuition, and my SUNY Online Network class starts on Monday!! (thanks again for your help, Mystiqx!)

I am a little apprehensive since I've never done it online before, don't know what to expect from the material ( is it mostly physiology??) or the format, and I usually benfit and enjoy the actual classroom experience...this is going to be great practice of self dicipline for me for NS this fall!!

Taking it online is the only way I can still visit my family this summer, because next year I'll be knee-deep in the accelerated BSN summer clinicals!

Good luck to all of us!
