Hello, all! Hope your day is going well =]
I had a question about whether or not you follow-up after applying for a position online. I'm a new graduate applying to at least 5 jobs a day (with no call backs so far!). I started noticing that many hospital HR offices are now having prerecorded messages to those who call to follow up. After hearing these messages so many times and not knowing how to get past them to a human, I sort of just gave up following up after applying.
To those who are actually getting through to someone to talk to, do you think it makes a big difference in whether you get a call back? Thanks so much in advance!!

Hello Olivia,
I found out the name of the nursing recruiter and called to follow up with her. It definitely helped me as she scheduled an interview for me. I will say that I live in a somewhat rural area and our facility does not have an automatic message system like the one that you mentioned.

Get the name of the recruiter and use snail mail.
