FNP School

Yay! I got accepted into an FNP program! I have been working on applications since the summer and coming to this site has helped me develop my essays as well as prepare for interviews. Thank you so much - I never actually posted in this forum before but I have read replies to other threads and have learned so much from you who are already NP's. Thanks again! :)

I'll be going to DeSales University starting in the summer. I've been contemplating going back to school for about 3 years and finally something clicked and made me decide that now is the time to do it. I actually can't wait to get back into a classroom (as crazy as that sounds!). Thanks for the congrats and good luck to you, Cardio!:)

congrats !!!!!, I'm finishing my practicums. Have completed all my course work. IT is definately worth it.

Talked to the director of the FNP program that I have applied for to let her know about the major mess with my MAT today.... see my other thread.

She went ahead and set up my interview for next week!!! Now Im getting nervous. Wondering what she will ask, personal or clinical questions....... oh the choices!!!!!! :uhoh3:

Cardio,

I just saw this post - how did your interview go? Hope it went well - keep me posted - sending good vibes your way!

The interview went well, she sent me a full time and part time plan to sign and send back. I chose the part time plan. It takes longer, but it is only 1 class at a time. They received my MAT scores, and my physical. Now all they are waiting on is my final transcripts when I finish my RN-BSN the end of this month. They said that if I was accepted that they would send a "conditional admission" letter pending graduation. Im hoping to be getting that letter soon. FNP classes begin May 9th.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

That's great! When will you be graduating from the MSN program? I'm also going part-time and will graduate in Jan. 2008. Some semesters I have to take 2 courses, others just one. The nice thing is that some of the courses are half-online, so I don't have to go to campus for every single class.

May 2008. All of the classes are online, I will have to go to campus one day each semester for some hands on labs. But other than that, its all online, and my preceptors office is about 6 miles from my house. Im excited, just cant wait to get started.

Cardiotrans- which school are you going to?

Hi! Sorry I'm replying so late - haven't had a chance to get on here much lately!

Well, my first class ends Monday...it went well - was a lot of work, though. I really enjoy it so far. It's nice that a lot of the core courses are either totally or half-online, so I don't have to go to class on campus all the time (great for me because I live about an hour away). It takes a lot of discipline, though, to make sure you keep up with the readings.

Definately look into it. The professors and staff there have been very nice to deal with. I've never had a problem getting quick replies to my questions about the program when I was looking at different schools.

Feel free to PM me if you want to talk more about it.:)
