FNP Online

Although I am not in an NP program yet, I was looking at our FNP/MSN program here at my school. Is it common for most schools to have students take most of their classes online? I was looking at the curriculum and noticed that almost all of the MSN and FNP classes are online, except for the clinicals (obviously), and I believe pathophysiology is in the classroom. Otherwise all of the classes are online. Is this odd for a program, or are most programs like this? Thanks! :)

The programs in my area offer a nice mix of both. Almost all of the basics (pharm, research, theory, patho,etc.) have an on-campus option OR online. I prefer online. I can drop my daughter off at school and come home, put in a DVD and listen to my lecture whenever *I* want, take breaks when I want to and incorporate the material at my own speed. I don't have a lot of questions and the questions I do have do not require me to be in class...I just post on the bulletin board. I enjoy not having to schlep to campus, troll around for a place to park and give up 4 hours of family time one night a week.

I think more and more schools are offering this option, especially for MSN, because they find their students prefer the flexibility.

My only problem with online classes is that they were not available 10 years ago when I did my BSN, LOL !
